Hey diamondtguy, I'd be interested in a copy of that article - can you email me at hwallis@telus.net?

Got a message on facebook the other day.Guy wanted to know if i knew about a failed Suburban Grizzly project sitting in a field in Quesnel (sp)..I said no..These stories are interestesting..I didnt have to do any research as he had pics of it..He does not own it and the guy who does says its a Grizzly..Make your own decision..It barely qualifies for yard art..Happy he had pics.....

Somebody trying to pass off a copy of a Grizzly (as an original Grizzly) and thinking it might be worth something?

It's been awhile since I have posted an update about my truck but there has been some good progress lately.
Jockey box doors in to the back seat have been rebuilt, they should be installed this afternoon. New fuse box is installed and a good chunk of the new wiring harness has been installed with wires fished through to the roof.
Upholsterer is well under way recovering the seats and making the new interior panels.
Almost all of the major body work is done, hopefully going to start painting the interior within the next week or so.

The pictures don't do justice to the amount of work done so far.

You and me both, wiring and I don't get along!
I was happy I was able to get all the lights and electrical working before I took the truck to the shop but when it comes to replacing it with the new harness and panel, I'm okay with letting someone else do it.

Work continues on the wiring harness install, new tool box doors are installed, layout planning for the new dash continues, seam sealing is done on the inside of the cab.
Interior is almost ready for primer and paint.
Some hard to find parts have started to arrive, it's really nice to see it starting to come together.

I can't take credit for the work being done to it now, it's all well above my pay grade.
The guys that are doing the work are certainly doing a great job.

grizzly 004.JPG Guessing yours were rubber coated and baddly damaged..I got the rubber off mine and had them sandblasted but they are baddly pitted.I will make new ones when I have my equipment up and running..Your new ones look good.Mine have a flange on the front that bolts to the fender for support..

My truck has been dead for a while now..It wasnt happy with me having to move(nor was I) and my brand new charging system has stopped working....I am working on the problem.

You can see the flange in the pic..

You're 100% correct. The steps and the original fenders were all coated with the rubber. Fenders were rusted right out, steps were pitted beyond repair.

Mine had small tabs on top of the step that bolted the fender to the step for support, we're going to make up new brackets that will go underneath so they aren't visible.

I hope your charging system doesn't give you too much grief, good luck with it!
