Can remember 8664 empty weights on tandems under 15,000, weak backed single rail SWB , could almost get a 1/4 fender between drives and fuel tanks.

Wow, I have a single axle CH Mack, daycab, 144" wheelbase that weighs 12,000 lbs. I thought it was light.

That is what Freightliner built their name on. Years back you would see 281 Pete's pulling Wesco hoppers in
the San Joaquin Valley hauling almonds, juice tomato's what ever. Most of those Pete's with hoppers only
had a tare of 22,000 or less and were licensed for 78,000.

Very few CF's had jakes, mainly ones that ran over mountain ranges. As far as those chain hangers on the
saddle tanks that was a CF trademark, they weren't too worried about scratching the tanks, plus easy to
remove and replace chains.

I looked up one of these models to see what was what and found this one. https://www.purplewave.com/auction/...eightliner-6342T-Ag_Trucks-Grain_Truck-Kansas I saw the plate said 6V92 but it is a Cummins in the pictures. I wonder if it got replaced along the way somehow.

Frtlnrs were common with Detroits, CF ran Cummins to standardize fleet. These auctions sites are full of
misprints. That one was not a CF but it was more than likely Cummins powered from day one. Walking
beam was installed later in life.

This is the specific picture I was looking at, has the build plate and the CF maintenance tag down in the corner, plus the paint colors red white and green.
