Saw a good deal on craigs list, only problem was the where. Anyway called the feller up, he said call me around 2P, so I piddled the mornin away, blowed alla the grass offa the mower, changed the blades, had more time, so's I started workin on the trailer tailgate, expanded metal, extra thin, needed a patch. Remembered I hadda aluminum diamond plate tailgate cover layin around, it were just long enough for the patch, so's I cut that up, then proceeded to cut the bent up chicken wire offa the tailgate, eat lunch, screw the patch in place with 13 screws, all by 1:15. Walked up to t'other truck, popped the hood, had just putta quart of oil in, when the feller calls me up, says he's home, come on over. So I head swampward, through DC, into Annendale, VA. 45 minute trip each way only rook an hour, each way...

Anyway, here's what I got:

www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-HP-18V-Brushless-Cordless-7-1-4-in-Circular-Saw-Tool-Only-PBLCS300B/314109411?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&&mtc=Shopping-RM-F_DYNM-G-D25T-025_009_PORT_POWER-RYOBI-NA-NA-SMART-NA-RMP-MK491413300_9016797488_FY22_3338&cm_mmc=Shopping-RM-F_DYNM-G-D25T-025_009_PORT_POWER-RYOBI-NA-NA-SMART-NA-RMP-MK491413300_9016797488_FY22_3338-71700000090162140-58700007647880391-92700069096055305&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpcOTBhCZARIsAEAYLuWotWt0bMa85cstTw81_mcQvIhm02--XirPgktRy2NGnfiqzKXo0lgaAgtFEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Also got 2 6 amp- hour battries with it, and a charger!

Also got one of these:

www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-18V-Cordless-1-4-Sheet-Sander-Tool-Only-with-Dust-Bag-and-Extra-9-Piece-1-4-Sheet-Sand-Paper-Assortment-Set-P440-A19901/316650390?g_store=&source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&&mtc=Shopping-RM-F_DYNM-G-D25T-025_009_PORT_POWER-RYOBI-NA-NA-SMART-NA-RMP-MK491413300_9016797488_FY22_3338&cm_mmc=Shopping-RM-F_DYNM-G-D25T-025_009_PORT_POWER-RYOBI-NA-NA-SMART-NA-RMP-MK491413300_9016797488_FY22_3338-71700000090162140-58700007647880391-92700069096055305&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpcOTBhCZARIsAEAYLuUxTi_BIWpTbDQq9s7XgszaH4myga9Pjip3TcxZxsLcOaqrUMZnSRgaAiQ6EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Ain't gonna break down the other 8 or so other tools other than to say, all Ryobi, all near new, sawzall, drill, 1/4 impact driver, 5-1/2 circular saw, 3 oscillating cutters, and some more various batteries and chargers... anyone wanna guess the price is right, style? Come on down!

No Guesse$? Also in this batch was a 18 volt weed whacker, wimpy lil thing, uses .60 string, about 3-4' long, but I wasn't gonna refuse it. Tried it out, put it on the floor of the Altoz, when I mow the road frontage, cause I have 5 phone poles that never get trimmed around, figgered I'd give it a try. Wimpy, my a$$! that lil thing is handier than a shirt pocket, I can use it while sittin in the seat of the Altoz! It'll chew up anything smaller than about 1/2" in diameter, I even chewed up some cherry trees that had sprouted by the poles!;)

I wonder if there is an update to allow using a lithium battery in my old nickel metal hydride drive drill? The old batteries are more than $100 apiece but there are deals on the newer lithium batteries and chargers.

They make much better ones than the ultra cheap Ryobi 18V ones.

ryobi makes a much better 18V one and then they make 40V ones that are extremely good.

I have the 40V brushless weed eater and blower combo that’s the best they make (well short of the carbon fiber shaft one that was almost identical but $50 more). The power from this weedeater is the exact same as a commercial gas one and the feed head is a good, very easy to load bump head as opposed to the cheap auto feed junk that slings your line out. You can also separate it at the shaft and use a pole saw or edger attachment instead.

My main concern was that it was cheap, fits on the floor of the altoz, and uses batteries that I already have...;)

I purchased an adapter that allowed me to put 20v batteries in my old 18v Dewalt stuff, was pretty cheap.

I did the same, though I found the 18v drills don't compare to the new brushless models. I burned up one 18v drill, almost have the second one cooked now. It has a hot, electrical type smell when operating now.

I have changed over to all 20v stuff as well. I have tried, without success, to give away the 18v stuff and the adapter. no one wants it for free!

How would I look up that adapter. I've got one drill and a jig saw that is battery and I love using them both. The drill is Ryobi and the saw is Dewalt. Both use the older nickel metal batteries. Do I have to buy both the charger and the battery to use the lithium products.

Yes, generally ltithium batteries will require a compatible charger.

honestly with the prices of a couple of batteries, charger, and adapter you are better off replacing with new.

I use the drill a lot more than the saw and I have a pretty new battery in the saw. The battery in the drill is about six or so years old and will need to be replaced in the not distant future.

I see what you mean, it's cheaper to buy a new tool or just buy another 18V Nickel battery.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Don't know anything about the Dewalt side, but on the Ryobi, if you get a new bat, you need a new charger. Check out the HD site, its near father's day, gots lotsa specials on. I think if you buy 2 batteries, you get a free tool of your choice. If not, keep lookin, lotsa packages and specials...;)

Id get a new drill kit then, and now is the good time for it with Father’s Day sales. Just don’t buy the cheapest kits of a given brand. Go for the more premium brushless option of a given brand.
