We are a manufacture of progressive thumbs of CAT excavators, recently we have some complaints that the AMR Sensor of New Gen CAT Excavators will make the connecting spot on the stick wider than usual.
Question is, does AMR sensor add same thickness for different models e.g. 317 ,320, 330?
If it does, it will make our life a little bit easier.

Thanks.

Maybe you should explain what an AMR sensor is and where it might be located on the machine.

Oh, sorry about that, it was in the attached pic. See there is a plate covering the stick where the linkage pin is? For 330 it is roughly one inch, not sure if it is the same for all models…

So what does AMR stand for and what does the sensor do?

That is the Anisotropic Magneto-Resistance (AMR) sensor which measures the position of the bucket in relation to the stick. It’s used for Cat Grade.

OK, thanks. I didn't know what to look for in your photo.

Probably not many of us here have that new of machine or currently work for a Cat dealer at the moment.
