Hello from Down Under. Recently acquired what is most likely a 1968 CAT D4D Ser # 85A891 (TBC). It should arrive in a wk or so. Previous dozer was a AC HD11 but it was sent from the field of play for misbehaving, gear box & final drives decided it was their turn to retire. Not sure what the donk is in this D4D, could be D330 or D330C, will have to wait to see if the fan is belt or gear drive. Walking gear looks in good nick, ukn condition of clutch(s), brakes etc. Has been working lightly timbered, flat, sandy country in central SW Queensland. I'll use it to clear lightly timbered fence lines, fire breaks & knock down 30m high ironbarks after I mount the 105mm M2A2 my Daddy brought back from SVN. Thinking about getting some rippers, but unsure if there is enough grunt in '68 D4D for rippers?
