More snow for the weekend. Rain Thursday, that will be a nice mess. Went out this morning to push up snow the trucks were dumping from one of the malls. Got a chance to try the new ( well 2 or 3 years old now ) 950. It has lots of power, but I know I could work circles around it with my old L70F. The controls are heavy, and the hydraulics are slow. Now it is a GC model, and I am told that the more expensive M series is a different machine, but this one doesn't impress me.

I was out last night scraping the ice off the back roads, my 150AWD sure likes the fuel, 350L in 6.5 Hours of pushing her hard, and 15L of DEF.
I was curious about the fuel consumption of the 150. They added some HP and Torque over the 140. Most, if not all of that is done by adding fuel.

Township next to me got a new 150 AWD. I'll try to get some pics in the next few days. I took a quick walk around this evening with it in a dark shed. Has Bridgestone V-Steel 17.5 tires. At a glance I don't like them. Very directional. I'll report the operator's opinion next Summer.

I got a new machine mid Winter once. I didn't like that. No time to be getting used to a new machine when pushing snow. But I'm glad for them. Their 140 was ten years old and only rear wheel drive. This is a whole new world for them, as it was for me.

I'll be surprised if we get more than an inch of snow. Temps falling quickly. Supposed to be mid teens F for the next couple days then warm back up.

If I start grading my roads this weekend I'll start a new thread.

Hoping you guys get some good weather. Stay safe!!!

Yes they have a bit more power, when I engage my front drives I was told by Cat another 35-45 hp out of the engine, you can hear the engine and turbo spool up when you engage the front wheels, more like a stage 1 tune being turned on to up the HP.

We dodged a bullet with this latest storm. Only got an inch of dry snow. 11F degrees with 20mph N wind this morning. Supposed to stay that way thru Thursday night. Then next week we start a big thaw. Should have very little frost in the ground by the 7th or 8th of Feb. I'll start doing maintenance grading this weekend.

looks like a freezing rain storm with ice pellets for us, better fuel the generator, this storm will re-glaze the back roads, crazy temps swing, -19c this morning by 12pm noon +5c, what a unbelievable winter so far in this area.

Same here. At least half a dozen times we've had 40+ degrees temp high swings in 24 hours.

Well, we got what was forecast, and its continuing to come down. The rain melted off any snow that we had yesterday, and thawed the top couple inches of my driveway. By noon today, I had 6" of heavy, wet snow to plow and it was still coming down hard. I plowed as much gravel as I did snow as the base isn't froze anymore and peeled right up with the snow. I got it roughly cleared, and I'm hoping the colder temps will help the gravel to freeze again. I really despise plowing snow off of a thawed driveway. Makes for a lot of work in the spring fixing the gravel.

If my driveway wasn't frozen I packed the snow down and drove on it. Much easier than raking rocks out of the yard in the spring.

I spent 2.5 hrs this morning running around dressing up the few small drifts that I had. Probly drove somewhere around 30 miles. Have everything knocked back far enough that when the big thaw comes next week I shouldn't have much water running down the roads.

Been bust since the 4th. Mother nature has made up for the lack of snow. Anything we have hauled away is back, and more so. Sunday was a clean up morning, but she was a beauty. Yesterday was chilly, but a great day as well. Snowing hard right now, so I'll be out tonight. I believe this is a rain event for you 20/80, should make a nice mess. It's going to be heavy to push. Wonder what the manager of a Walmart in an area that gets no snow would think of the extra $75,000 a year one pays here for snow removal and sanding?

Our snow only remains where the drifts were deep. 55F this afternoon. Supposed to be mid 40s to 50 for the next 10 days. Hoping our extreme cold temps are over for this Winter. If we get a big snow it won't last long.

We are supposed to get some above freezing temps this week and next. It's fairly mild now. Going to be heavy snow. The city subs out the plowing for out lying areas. The contractor that does my subdivision has a couple Case 621gs with power angle box blades. The ones that can change the angle of the side plates. The young fella that runs one of them will close the side when he goes by a driveway to keep from filling it in. The other guy just lets it go. I try to be good to people. When I plowed roads, if it was a street with homes on one side, I would take all the snow to the opposite side of the road. If I do a lot that is beside a driveway, I'll take the heavy bank away for them. Probably should try to lay down and get a bit of sleep before 2

3 of us hauled 216 loads of snow in one of the mall parking lots today. That's from the last 2 storms as it was cleaned up before that. Not sure how they price that. It's part of the contract, but they keep track of it hourly. It was a little more than 6 hours, the snow dump is on the mall property. When we haul to our own dump for other customers, it's around 30 bucks a load. Almost $6500 for 5 men, 3 trucks, an L150, and an L180 for 6ish hours

You wouldn't make much money trucking snow here.

It wears me out just reading about it. You guys have had one hell of a Winter!!!! We got a trace of rain last night. Cold front moving in this afternoon. Then back above freezing by Monday. Forecasted to get rain and 1-3" of snow next Thursday. I'll be shocked if we get more than an inch. We're on the verge of a drought. Good thing is when my roads thaw, they stay solid.

You guys hang in there....
