I am so fighting off trading for a u48-5. Kinda waiting to see if the 040 gets upgraded to a -5. The 057 puts me over 26k. The new u48 seems a little more able than the 040…1000lb more and 12” more track, along with more flow.
Really like the kx057-5 though…

That's an oldie but a goodie! Those things were damn near impossible to brake. I rented one years ago for a couple of months, I remember it being a good strong machine but it's swing speed was rather slow. After renting the 191 I ended up buying a used KX151 with 1500 hours, my first mini x. That was a good machine too.

Today at 247 hours my KX057-5 had the second regen (15 mins). Can't believe only 2 regens so far. From what I'm hearing most 057-5 owners are having a regen at 70-80 hours.
Not a single fluid leak of any kind so far either! Yep, I'm happy.

Tyler...love your shop! Trying to get mine built so I can put in mill, lathe, surface grinder etc.
We have all the above. Its actually my dads and uncles shop. I basically grew up in there if I wasn't in school I was there. Now its at the day job or there. The day job always is getting in way of the important work.

My ole beater machine getting a little dirty. View attachment 251139

Couple questions if you will.
On the -4 machines you can see the ground past the rubber floor Mats around the track controls, basically its not a sealed cab. Did they address this in the -5 cabs? The cabin filters are a joke on the -4’s, I actually retrofitted the svl cabin filter and sealed the intake on my 040-4. Did they upgrade cabin filtration? Thanks.

Can't see through my floor at all with rubber mat lifted up so it is sealed up good. Removed the a/c filter at the 200 hr service and no problems there. Filter was not very dirty at all.
