Here is a few pics of my buddy hauling a big transformer from Arizona to Colorado. This load weighed around 1 million pounds. This trailer will go to 20 feet wide and can handle a whole heck of a lot more weight. He was telling me when they hit the steep hill they hook a prime mover on the front to assist in the pulling.

Very special truck and amazing pictures!
I am sure it can not be fast otherwise the brake will very hot and the tyres will be spoiled.

CPS; Glad u enjoyed it!

Theese guy's transport all over Europe, maybee u'll see them one day.:)
They are stationed on the docks of the ABB factory in Drammen.
They produse the goods and just pull it out onto the boat.(Not shure if they still do it theese days, but did some years ago.)

Their boat is filling its time in the North sea, transporting the real heavy parts out to the oilplattforms.;)

They got three trucks, a Faun, a MAN and the new Merc.
Good homepage with a lot of pics, Norwegian language gives u more pics than the english one.

Added a pic from Estonia.
Tripple B? check the length...

Nice pics MKTEF, Martin. Once again outdone by somebody on the forum. Oh well, here is a few pics of the Prime Mover that went with the load. We were fortunate enough to assist these guys up some steep hills. This truck had a 5 spd automatic with a 4spd brownie. Our driver was telling me that when this super load was pulling just a gradual hill, and the trucks got onto the solid line on the highway, they would actually spin out and loose traction and have to get the Prime Mover out to get them going again:beatsme.

I got to drive it back to there yard today and boy she had some torque. 26 miles per hour was the top speed for her though!! Had the turning radius of a freight train. You can bet I had a big smile for those six miles I was behind the wheel.

For the age of that trailer it looks to be in great shape....Judging from the name plate and the pins in the deck and goose neck it is prob in the 1984-1986 range right?

Those big trucks sure look impressive but Lampson are pulling the same weight transformers with off the shelf 600 hp Macks. Some loads go clear across Australia into the desert mine sites and the Macks work well.Another company ,Bradshaws do just as well with off the shelf type Kenworths.Same job for a whole lot less capital outlay.
Got a real cool video of a big heavy haulage company (that is no longer around)called Brambles pulling a big shovel (400 t)into a mine site in the middle of nowhere. The Macks are in their glory untill it rained and the red dirt turns to mud.But 2 big graders and a big Cat wheel loader were lashed on to pull them through.Maybe the 8x8 or 10x10 would have been better but nothing quite beats the note of the mighty Mack 550hp V8 at full tilt.

I think that trailer is a 1989 Chaz. It's been really good to us over the years.

They just moved a transformer through my town. It Moved from Portsmouth, NH to Londonderry, NH near the Manchester-Bostn regional airport. The only difference was they had 2 Massive Autocars with train engines under the hood move the transformer. It only reached a top speed of 10 mph. But, they were BIG!!

Yes they are ex Megalift but they go back further than them to Walter Wrights and the first owners Fleetexpress.
Yes Lampson do have a couple of real big Kenworths .They are used mainly on site but i have seen them on the road up in Queensland pulling a generator up a big hill. That was impressive with 8 trucks(2 o9f these big Kennys 1x mack an 3 other Kenworths pulling and a Mack and a Kenworth pushing)on the job.The road authorities only issue a permit for them to travel only on the big hills When they have done their job they mist be put on a low loader to move.
