Kitty Kat 299c skid steer came back from a hard day grappling. I noticed the right hand track was sagging so went in to grease the adjuster and see the track is coming off rear idler. Is it possible to get the track back in line with rear idler? Or am I going to have to lift the machine and pry it on? Suggestions?

Its easiest with 2 people release the tension by loosening the grease tension fitting on the side of the track frame block the back end lift the front with the bucket have operator put controls in #2 so tracks will run individually run a 4x4 wood block though the sprocket to suck the idler back and push the grease out to remove tension from there it will probably fall into place if not run sticks or boards around the idler to raise the guides up out of the groove and push it over re-grease and go

I think it took longer to type that then it takes to line it back up with 2 people

Can you explain how to 'put controls in #2'? Sounds like this allows you to turn one track but not the other?

#11 in pic also know as case controls your machine may not be equipped then it may be easier to get both sides up in the air so it doesn't move on you

Okay, thanks for the reply! I don't think I have that option. Sounds like the key is to insert a board in between the track and the sprocket to compress the grease tensioner fully to get the maximum amount of slack so the track is easier to manage.

Once again, the advice and recommendations from this forum solved another equipment problem. Once I got the kitty Kat up on blocks in the back and front it was lickety split getting the track back on. Using a few wood 2x2's stuck in the track as it rolled, snapped the track back. Thank you for the great tips!!!
