I didn't have a good week, my fear of a idiot driver finally came through, rear ended someone in my dump truck loaded, not hard I was doing maybe 10 mph. Merging onto freeway, just got up to speed of 50 MPH, right lane was closed, one person was stopped waiting to get in lady in front of me lights up her brakes and stops, on the horn for a few seconds trying to stop she doesn't budge and hit her. Then of course she goes, other vehicle didn't merge in even. Once she stopped she knew I was fuming and instantly said "I knew I shouldn't have stopped but that guy was trying to force his way in". Total BS, she just did something completely stupid and was trying to pass the blame. You're on a 50 MPH freeway and light up your brakes coming to a complete stop with a totally open lane, you're a complete idiot who shouldn't have a license.

Oh and best part? I have no dash camera footage I pulled camera on saturday to check how the footage would be with new camera and found out it wasn't for crap so didn't have camera in truck.

I'm a honest guy and want to tell the truth about what happened, but only if the lady tells the truth and admits she knew she screwed up by stopping. I'll accept 50% fault even though it really should be 0, but no way in hell am I taking 100% fault for it.

The loader looks heavy, but if it's 18000 that's not bad at all, easy pull for 3500. As far as being legal, at least up here manufacture towing ratings mean nothing. As long as you're not exceeding any tire or axle ratings you can put 100,000lbs behind a pickup and DOT won't bother you.

and no legal status in this country too...

We got a ton of those here along with all the non English speaking cdl bunch they give licenses too by the 1,000's even though they have no experience besides a rickshaw. No one does anything about that but DOT will bust a customers balls if a mudflap is a little honkie on one side.

Or if a tire is a hair low. Because you know safety right?

Just go look at about half the dump trucks running around here I have no idea how they stay in buissness cause they sure cant pass an annual inspection and most would get red tagged at a checkpoint but all that said the 2 worst maintained dump trucks I have ever seen were owned by a white guy and and driven by white guys stupid is equal opportunity

In all seriousness around here it seems the less legitimate your set up is the less likely you will be messed with i honestly believe it comes down to going after companies with money

What is the average gcvw of an rv? This one is a little undersized for the load, but its not hard to tell its been photo shopped. Pin height is way to low for that trailer. It's still probably been done though....

A friends dad pulls a massive triple axle enclosed with 2 race cars behind massive RV. I don't know exact weight, but I would guess at least 60,000lbs total. Yea it is crazy how you don't need anything other then a air ticket for it.

The thing i've never got is, use a truck on air with electric brake you can hit over 100,000lbs and only need class 3 and no training, but go to a trailer on air and only gross 30,000lbs and you need a class 1 and 120 hours training. Whether or not the trailer is on air should not be such a deciding factor. It also makes a lot of people go to electric brakes to get around it.

How the fed can get that stopped with electric brake gvwr is require the electric brake trailer combined
with truck loaded to max rating has to have parking brakes on said trailer hold on a 20% incline and
move no more than 3" when parking brakes are set. That requirement is used for air brakes. Not brakes actuated
by foot pedal but real parking brakes.

Oh I don't deny stupid is universal, you just get tired of the OTR idiots on their blutooths and using google translate on road calls, at truck stops...

As long as traffic enforcement money is going into general funds it's all about they money.

Not quite an over load, but mentioning GPS.... For those of you unfamiliar with the area, through Mt. Rainier NP runs State Route 410. It climbs over Chinook Pass. In the NP no commercial vehicles are allowed to transit. We followed a Knight freight truck up the highway about 2 weeks ago, expecting it to turn off. But... into the park it went, stuck behind with no place to pass, about a mile from the summit a NPS cop pulled in behind us, passed us and a half mile from the summit pulled the truck over. For those of you who know the area, Tipsoo Lake. Out of curiosity, we pulled over, watched the citation get issued and then watched the NPS cop follow the truck back the way it came. I guess that is why you shouldn't rely on GPS alone. :(

That's kind of a unique gooseneck on that trailer. I've seen RGN built that way, but never a gooseneck.

This is what the hauler used to move my backhoe across country. He blew three tires and lost an axle. When I found out, I refused to let him continue, called a heavy equipment hauler, and made the original guy pay for the tow for the remainder of the trip.
It’s a wonder he didn’t dump the hoe into the ditch, or kill someone. 501AA03D-59AB-44D5-AD07-E9FA029679C4.jpegB2E701B0-A900-4D97-8FE7-34B4624927F3.jpeg
