i have a CAT skid steer model 232b2. i haven't been able to get the arms to raise up on it. with machine running parking indicator lamp does not come on. when i am pushing the button to release the parking brake, the seat belt indicator light starts flashing. machine will move, but i cannot raise the arms. hydraulics won't engage, but the hydraulic fluid level is good. checked wiring as best as i can, and i see no bare wires. i also have bypassed the seat sensor thinking that would help, with no luck.

Here are a few simple things to check when troubleshooting:

Make sure that your Hydraulic Lockout switch has not been mistakenly activated.

According to my 242B manual: "Hydraulic Lockout - Press the top of the switch. This will disable the hydraulic functions. Press the top of the switch again in order to activate the hydraulic functions. Note: Activate the hydraulic shutoff when you are roading a machine in order to prevent unplanned movement of the work tool and the loader arms."

Your door (if so equipped) also activates a hydraulic shut off switch which does not allow you to operate the hydraulics with the door open. If you remove the door, this switch has to be jumpered to operate the hydraulics. Check that this switch is operating correctly. You can jumper this switch to test it.

And perhaps a long shot, make sure your Bypass Valve Handle (in my 242B it is located next to the seat on the right hand side) is in the closed position (pushed down).
