Should I buy this 2011 D5k2?

A pier of mine has just informed that he wants to sell his 2011 D5k2 XL. He has been running it on wildland fire work this season and now wants to upgrade to a D6. I've always wanted a D5 and now one has fallen into my lap. Whether, or not, I would be wise to buy one is another question.
Current owner (I know he's not the original owner) states that it has no leaks (probably true since he uses it for wildland fire work), has sweeps and screens (screens are home-made), and the U/C is at 60%. It is equipped with an aftermarket ripper (3 shank), enclosed cab (claims all glass is good) with A/C and heat, new cutting edges, and 3,428 hours. He's asking $74k.
Does this sound like a good buy?
Are there any problems that these units are known for?

I can’t speak to issues, but I’m also curious to know also as I’m looking at that size/ year dozer. With that being said, if that machine was near me I would take a serious look at it. It seams that there is not to many D5/ 650 machines in the north east up for sale right now.
A 2011 probably has a dpf filter/ emissions, that would be my main focus other than the typical dozer check points.

I think the pricing is reasonable if in good shape.

Current owner states no emissions devices (makes it a tier 3?) so that shouldn't be an issue (YAY!). I sent the S/N to my salesman and he sent me back a report of all repairs done at Cat dealers. Machine was originally sold by Cecil I. Walker Machinery (Cat dealer in Ky, merged with Whayne Supply, and now named Boyd CAT) so one of my concerns will be if a machine spec'd out for the South will be appropriately equipped for my applications in the west. Things like block heater, rock guards, etc.
Having local PSR go check out the U/C.

I had PSR check the U/C and he came back with 50% life remaining. I went and looked at it. It is a local private seller who I know and trust (he has good integrity). I ended up buying the dozer! If there's any interest in I'll post pics once I get it to my place. Thanks for your help.

Sorry for the delay. Here she is. Can't really tell from these pics but the paint is a bit rough from all the bush-waking I suppose all those wild land fire guys do. She's got new edges and corner bits (Yay!), came with full length rock guards, and needs a new air duct outlet (see the bottom of a water bottle on the dash?). Some of the lift cylinder hoses are too long (they have been rubbing on the body work) so I think I'll replace those. It also seems to me that the C-frame bushings/pins, and/or maybe the lift bushings/pins may need to be replaced. The C-frame moves funny. She has sort of a sideways shift and the right side will lift a fraction of a second sooner than the left, upon that transitional weight shift from being on the ground to in the air. Actually this movement happens just prior to it leaving the ground and I can repeat the symptom consistently by asking it to raise and lower (ever so slightly) while it's still on the ground. Like I said, it's noticeable at that transition point. Furthermore, it squeals a bit when asking for high speed down (from the fully raised position) like it has been a bit starved for grease. I haven't put the grease gun to her yet but I wonder if there are a couple zerks that don't take grease where the C-frame meets the main-frame. Can anybody tell me if those bushings and pins are commonly needing replacement at 3,400 hours?
I'm having her delivered to one of my jobs tomorrow. Were going to see how well she likes managing some of our shot rock/hammer crumbs that we crushed to 3" minus for a driveway fill. Based on what I've seen that material do to the crusher jaw dies, and my excavator buckets, I'm concerned for how long the skin on the blade, and the grousers are going to last when pushing that crushed material. Time will tell!IMG_3805.jpg IMG_3806.jpg IMG_3807.jpg IMG_3808.jpg
