It is TM1504 490E excavator Operation and Tests It might be sold as a CD. I could never read a schematic on a lap top so I used to print it out and tape the pages together before I went out in the field.

I have always found the Deere manuals to be easier to use than the Hitachi but be careful on the wiring schematic. There are several differences between the Deere and Hitachi, especially the alternator.

I remember being told that when Deere had gone to Hitachi to make their excavators for them (best thing they ever did) they had a guy translate the Hitachi manuals into english and he missed a few things .I was repairing the fuel gauge on a 590D and the manual said to check it by hooking it up to the 24 volt battery. It worked very well the first time until you let all the smoke out of it.(its only a 12 volt gauge with a resistor in the harness going to it) 4 hrs and 3 gauges later I found the resistor.

I used to work on Kobelco in the mid 90's and their manuals were written in English by a Japanese person. There were words in there that Webster had never heard of. I called it Jenglish.

So with the alternator completely unhooked I ground it out the blue and white wire and it shut off the buzzer and turn the accessories off. Then luckily I actually had another alternator on the shelf slapped it in it and away she went
