All of the Y blocks in automotive used a three bolt starter-I had two 56 ford pickups one with a 292 the other a 312. Both used a three bolt starter.
That starter above is auto lite industrial never seen a ford v8 in those years with that type of starter.
Below is a high torque for automotive use {note three bolt} and if you scroll to bottom it will bring up everything it fits in those years.
