    Topcon GPS (Excavators) problems

We run our cable inside a flexible protective sleeve (Orange conduit given to us on a jobsite by an electrician) and at the end it goes through an old hydraulic hose at the dog bone so the dirt doesn't damage it. Been using it for a year and not a single mark on the cable. Also helps only 1...

    Stormtech underground stormwater retention system.

You might want to check with the ADS rep on the no manholes. The isolater row has a fabric that is supposed to catch the silt and normally there is a manhole at either end with a short piece of 24" in pipe. They even sell the endcaps for the chambers with a 24" pipe molded in just for this. This...

    Stormtech underground stormwater retention system.

I typically do my own layout as the engineers dont tend to calculate everything exact enough. The isolater row is normally between two manholes so I use that as my reference and do my own layout from there. I tend to overdig the system as its a pain to go back in later to make it bigger.

    Stormtech underground stormwater retention system.

These things are really easy to install. I have done 100s of them. On a big system like yours you need to dig the bottom and grade the stone as you go to the bottom of chamber grade on the shop drawing they give you. Then once the entire system to grade install the chamber all at once so...

    Fine grading with gps

Go into the computer in the cab and try slowing down the hydraulic valve speed. If its turned up to high it will make the blade jumpy.

    345CL buckets on 345BL

I have a both a 345cl and a 345bl that I would like to be able to interchange buckets with. The quick coupler on the BL is to small to accept the larger pin on the cl buckets. My 345cl doesnt have a coupler so we rarely change buckets on it. Any ideas that dont cost alot of money to get...

    Making crushed stone

I am experimenting with a jaw crusher and screener setup. Right now I have my jaw closed down to 4" and a read screen all with 1" screens and I am making a nice gravel product with lots of oversize rip rap. I want to get a 3 deck screen and make crusher run and 3/4" or 1.5" crushed stone...

    Peat Road Excavation

I am digging out a new roadway 400x50x7 to remove peat and replace with structural gravel. Anyone have any ideas how to dry the peat out with limited room in the winter/spring? It will suck to load and haul mud. Last roadway we did we put into a stockpile and it took over a year for it to dry...

    L120C reverse not working

I dont think I have the toggle switch next to the controls. There is a slight rattle like the tranny is only half engaged. It just stopped going into reverse. No big blowout or anything like that. All gears forward still work no problem. I just hope its not expensive since my buddy was doing...

    L120C reverse not working

I borrowed a loader from a friend today to move some snow. Its an older L120C. Anyway The reverse went out after driving it home. I did use reverse once or twice prior to driving it home and it worked. There sounds like a shaft is spining but the wheels aren't moving. Kinda like the tranny...

    Ground Heater/Thawing Units

I use a Heat King 500 made by Crown. Supposedly its the biggest on the market. I can do about 10,000 sf of thawing 1' thick per 24 hour period with concrete curing blankets on top to keep the heat in. If your handy you could build your own. Its just 2 large oil burners in a trailer with some...
