Educate me on motor graders, I'm looking to buy one

The C series were a good machine. They were the first Deeres to have the radiator up the back of the machine instead of behind the cab like the A and B series Deeres. I remember the transmission was all new too and they had a few teething problems with them, but once sorted out they worked fine.

JD 770- new to me questions

The early 770's weren't bad machines. I liked them. The push button controls is different and can sometimes be a little slow to respond if anything. It won't have that low down grunt of a 140G, but it will do everything you ask of it.

Champion 720R ´88 series III, What oils do I need?

According to the Champion 700 series manual I have..if the grader has oil disc brakes, it will have two warning buzzer lights on the right hand door post. If it has drum brakes it will have a single amber warning buzzer light.

    Bought a JD 570

There should be a button under a cover near the brake pedals from memory for the centreshift/saddle. If the pins haven't been moved in a while they might need a little encouragement.

    JD 570A Lube Issues

My grader had a few fittings that wouldn't take grease..on the steering king pins though, so a lot easier to get at. I took the grease fittings off and got a bit of mig welding wire and dug some of the old grease out. It took some time, but it worked, they all took grease after that.

Giving a CooEE to All the Aussies Where are Ya Mate?

It says - All speeds are truly powershift, available to the operator without clutching, braking or decelerating. The transmission automatically shifts down from direct drive or overdrive under lugging conditions. It does not shift up under lighter loads beyond the drive selected. I had a play...

Giving a CooEE to All the Aussies Where are Ya Mate?

From the Cat No 16 sales brochure I have it says. Three drives.. torque divider, direct and overdrive. In each of the three ranges give the operator nine speeds forward and reverse. Top speed of more than 30mph (50km/h)

    Ever blade backwards?

I blade backwards..If the material is light and you take it easy, the grader will do it without any problems. It's a handy trick to have in the repertoire especially when you don't have room to flick the grader around. I've been around graders for 40 years..most of my life, I'm a second...
