Any one want to help out a newbie with an old Link Belt excavator?

I took a closer look at my suction hose. Looks like it was a 60 mm = 2"-3/8". This link shows that there are 2 sizes close to 34mm http://www.hbdthermoid.com/images/industrial_hose/coolant_7910_bellowsflex_a.pdf I wonder if the 1" - 5/16 - 33.34 mm could fit? Also, in my experience, the...

    Pump to engine coupler

Another update. I have recieved and installed new coupler. Seems to be a good fit. Between that and the new motor mounts I installed too, the machine has never run so smoothly while I owned it. Many thanks to lantraxco and willie59.

Any one want to help out a newbie with an old Link Belt excavator?

Regarding your hose size problem. I have a 1991 LS2700C11. I had a similar problem with the main suction line from the tank to the pump inlet. I wanted to replace the hose and when I measured it was something like 65 mm. I couldn't find anything even close to the proper ID at a local...

    Pump to engine coupler

An update. I contacted the Ebay seller and explained my problem. He recognized immediately that the coupler he had sent was the wrong one (picked from the wrong shelf) and has shipped me the proper one. I will provide more information when I have received the new piece.

    Pump to engine coupler

Took some measurements and pics. Splined coupler is 100 mm in dia. The holes in the splined coupler are blind and cannot be screwed in to clamp onto the splined pump shaft. Thanks to lantraxco for jumping in. Coupler appears to be size 50 and the bolt holes were a good fit to the splined...

    Pump to engine coupler

I will take some measurements tonight and post. There was no number molded on the coupler as there was not rubber left.

    Pump to engine coupler

Ok, very interesting, when I removed the splined hub, it was floating freely on the splined pump shaft. I assumed that the assembly was held in place from the engine side because the 'fingers' and studs were stuck together. I will look at it again from this new perspective. Is there any hope...

    Pump to engine coupler

So I removed the pump assembly on my 1991 Linkbelt LS2700C2 to have some hydraulic leaks fixed. When I remove the pump housing it was immediately obvious what had been clunking every time I shut the machine off. (see picture of engine drive plate and coupler 'fingers') After a great deal of...

    Clutch Brake Replacement

I am in the middle of replacing the clutch brake in my old IH single axle dump truck and am having an awful time removing the old clutch brake with the transmission in the truck. I have read that the most common ways of removing it are to use a cutting torch or an air chisel. I don't want to...

    Shovels

The shovel shown on the TV show 'How it is made' is a Garant, they are made in Quebec and are very good. http://www.garant.com/html/en/produits/sousFamilles.php?idFamille=1000000&idSousFamille=1000000

Does anyone have any pics of this drain? I would like to drain mine this summer before I have to worry about it freezing next winter.

    service manual

Try this link. It took me forever to find this website. It was buried about 50 pages deep in google. By the way if anyone knows where I can find a service or parts manual for a 1991 Link-belt LS2700 CII it would be much appreciated. http://www.manuals.us/search.aspx?find=case+580L

    Stupid Question of the Day

There is one other hydraulic line that goes to the track motors for the spring applied hydraulically released brake on each motor. When you stop moving, there is a set of spring applied plates that come on to prevent the machine from creeping back and forth while you are digging. When you...

    hydraulic cylinder problem

sawz5, I understood that, my question was more generic. I have a similar problem with my Linkbelt. I need to repack the seals in the main lift cylinders and I am trying to figure out if I can get the cylinders apart without taking the tubes off the machine. I don't have any way (ie...
