Suggestions for first heavy equipment purchase

I would get settled in to where ever you end up, assess your needs and rent a couple of times first. Try out a wheeled unit and then a tracked one to see which one best suits your needs. Most places that rent skids also rent small tractors as well.

    1845 to 1845c parts compatibility.

Pull the seat pan out. There's a ton of mechanical stuff to lubricate related to the steering. My 1840 was very stiff when I got it.

    Bobcat 773 starter replacement

Anyone old enough to remember what the "R" terminal was designed for? Back in the 50's,60's and early 70's (pre electronic ignitions), engines had a ignition coil controlled by a set of points and condenser in the distributor. In run mode, 12 vdc was sent to the ignition system but through a...

    Bobcat 773 starter replacement

Anyway, if you jump from the battery (big terminal) to the smaller green terminal the starter should click and spin.

    Bobcat 773 starter replacement

On the second picture it looks like something else is supposed to be on that post with the green wire but is bent out of the way

    1845 to 1845c parts compatibility.

It may be different on yours but on my 1840, the tag is located just below the left control arm if sitting in the seat. small tag probably 2X3 inches if I remember correctly.

Case 1840 was cranking over now just clicks

But the more important question is, is it running? I'm curious, how many hours showing in the clock? I was never able to try a cold start when I bought mine. It was running when I arrived to look at it. And running quite nicely I might add. Showing less then 1500 hours so I took a gamble. I...

my 259D needs a jumpstart and hydraulics not working

Well just curious. He said he had to jump start it. If it's not charging, how many volts are required for the electronics to operate reliably?

Yes, check the voltage. With the engine running, you should be seeing over 13 volts. Any warning lights?

    Snow insurance.

I bought my Case at the beginning of last snow season. Got it all set up just the way I wanted along with making sure everything was perfect. Now we're getting close to the end of the second season and I've only used it one time and probably didn't even need to use it then. Had about 2 inches...

    Bucket not level

Any chance you can borrow another bucket to try? That would eliminate that from the equation.

    Bucket not level

Here's a thought. Drop the loader arms close to the stops and measure the gaps on both sides. If the loader frame is bent, the gaps will be different. Or lower until it just hits the stops. If it's bent, I would think there will be a gap on the high side.

Best set up to remove snow on gravel driveway

I like the idea of adding sides to a standard bucket. Could also add removable sides to a angle plow. I'm only doing my own paved driveway. I don't windrow. I push it all forward to 2 different places on the yard. Unless I'm not home and we get dumped on quickly, I never let it accumulate...

    Bucket not level

Yikes. I just looked at pictures of ASV 120 loader arms. They look super strong. Is this problem existing from when you bought it or something that popped up recently? If recent, I'll bet you remember hitting something that hurt you as well.
