    Building a New Shop

Well we put our electrical under the concrete. Instead of running it up and over. Its shorter this way and saves money. If you run air lines for the air compressor in the wall. We put ours UP in the corner and boxed it in so you dont have to hear it. Run your lines sloped down from the...

    Home Made Tool

Well to add to your cable trick. I ran Etnyre chipspreaders for 8 yrs. I had to splice the conveyor belts every year. Instead of beating on that cable for an hour, i now chuck the cable in my cordless drill and put them in in 30 sec. Sometimes TAPPING on the hinge at the same time helps. If...

    Mechanics vs. Doctors

If the Doctors is "Still under practice" Whats the "Nurse"? The parts runner? LOL

    Home Made Tool

We have a home made tool that gets used alot. I was just wanting to share it with every one. We take a piece of rod(that may take a little grinding) ( a drill on a bench grinder works great) to fit the rod in your diegrinder. Length is your preference. Cut a groove with the diegrinder wheel...

    hydraulic cylinder rebuilding

My old man made a tool that fits in the reese hitch on his service truck. Its low to the ground for little oil mess and makes it easy to handle since its not waist high. All it is, is a pin welded to square tubing and he keeps it in his truck at all times. Very rarely do we take them anywhere...

    Vogele Vision Paver

Does that one have heated end gates? I was wondering how well they worked if u have them. We saved some old good heating elements off our Cat, and r gonna try to make our own. lol...

    road tech shuttle buggy

Well it only took an hour to go up one to back down. I can tell u it worked great. Its much easier to back the buggy and dump in it than to drive forward. This way u dont have to steer and move c3 when your not driving to straight.

    road tech shuttle buggy

Well we are going to try a new use for the shuttle buggy. How about using for an asphalt curb machine? My boss is nuts. I get to be the operator. Its gonna be hard to fun it and take pictures. $375,000 machine feeding a $2,000 machine.

Any body have Cat AP100 problems too?

Cat cant find anything wrong with it anywhere. we did update our other AP1000 this winter with the new harness and screed heater elements. They cant tell us why the "heating up" and "hot" lights flash all the time. They say its fine, but we know better. None of our others do this.

What kind of ski's does everybody run?

We have 6 pavers and cant afford to buy all new ski's. But those ski shoes are getting expensive at 100 bucks a pop. But we also run 2 50ft skis a lot too. One on each side and run grade both sides. The old Blaw Knox respond better on grade than it does on slope.

    Demo Roadtec RP195

We use the blaw know wedge lock with 2 50 ft skis. we tried it with the cat and it doesnt work as well. We are using a rear mount for now. To us its what we call idiot proof. Our other tailend guys arent smart enough to starve the material in the middle of a front mount to wing in and bend up...

    Demo Roadtec RP195

I posted all our problems on the AP100 D which was a misprint I ment to say 1000D. I also forgot to say that we get a lot better ride out of a wedge lock screed and use it behind the blaw knox 3200. We use it for surface cause we can get low ride #'s. As low as 6 to 9 all day long. We banked...

    Demo Roadtec RP195

Our Cat dealer is literally a football field away. But we cant seem to get anybody to give a straight answer on our problems and its like we are getting the run-around. I guess we are the only ones with the same problems on 2machines that r 4 yrs apart. We love our shuttle buggy and the way...

Any body have Cat AP100 problems too?

So we bought a new Cat this yr. with a rear mount screed. The electric heat takes 1 hr to heat up when its 70 outside. And the pumps cavatate after about 3 to 4 hrs of use. ( sounds like its running out of hydraulic fluid in the pumps when u do more than one function at a time). The steering...

    Demo Roadtec RP195

We almost demoed one last year, but CAT took us to the Xpo in Ohio. Plus we already had a AP1000 coming. Anyway we were looking at them hard and would love to try one out. We have had nothing but problems with the last CAT we bought! Road Tec claimd u can put ur hands on the pump on the...
