Bobcat 863 Duetz factory remaned engine lost power and smoking

There is usually soot on the exhaust impeller. Borrow timing pins from someone or have someone check it for you before spending the big money. Breather vent will put some oil into intake side as Ozarkag said in his above post. And yes no boost at idle unless under load like stalling out. Simon C

Coolant in oil Detroit 6V53 Diesel Engine

Truck Shop Said as close to Gospel Truth as you can about a 39 Year old unit. His suggestion will work 100% to find cause. Simon C

Coolant in oil Detroit 6V53 Diesel Engine

If it leaked a gallon very fast, most likely bottom of liner bore, or crack in side of liner. You would think that a leak in head gasket or injector o-ring that accumulates a gallon in an hour would hydrolock the cylinder from turning over. Pulled out too many of those liners to want to do...

Bobcat F 873 fix Deutz or Repower

Does that unit have a Deutz 1011 engine in it. They are not rocket science and there are probably cores out there somewhere for some of the parts. Have worked quite a bit on some different Deutz engines and they do have not too bad priced manuals. Shop around and way less involved to fix than...

By any chance do you have a loose air intake clamp or hole in the air intake and the engine is possibly sanded. Often times once restarted they tend to run not bad till either will not start it any more. Have you done an engine oil sample. It can point a person in the right direction often...

Doesn't that engine have a timing belt. Is it a Deutz 1011 engine . Maybe the belt is bad or jumped one tooth. This would limit power and cause smoke as Vetech said. I have changed 2 belts on 1011 Series engines years ago and not too hard if you have the special pins too lock timing. Just...

    330clc

Does that unit have an air intake ribbon heater or glow plugs that are not working. Is it losing its prime of fuel. Putting air to the fuel tank with a blow gun and 1 PSI being held with a rag over filler hole will often cause a leak if anything is at all leaking on the voyage to the fuel...

2006 CAT242B - Chain Case Leak Around Drive Motor

I had the exact same leak on a Cat 236B Skid Steer that was dripping on the floor continually. After cleaning the bottom for 4 hours I tightened the hydraulic return manifold hose clamps and yes the clamps were all loose. They are in a nasty spot and I was glad I did not have to change that 2...

    Michigan 275b transmision takes time

The whole underground of a Gold Mine in Northern Ontario ran on Clark Powertrains in the late 1980's. Because it never went below 50F in the underground environment they mostly ran on Straight 30 or Straight 10 Motor oil as in Kshansen's post. They would sometimes put dye in a component to be...

Cat 235 Final Drive Issue. Help please? :-)

Have used the same rod and was successful. Have also used some special rod that doesn't stick to the sides and gotten some out even 1 inch down inside. Weld a little, Chip out with narrow screw driver with tiny hammer and blow slag out . Weld another bead and repeat. Time and patience are a...

    Eimco 911 LHD

Wagner was a supplier of Brake master cylinders for a long time. Have worked on many scooptrams made by JCI., Eimco, Wagner, Toro, and Caterpillar. Bendix might also have been a supplier of Brake master Cylinders. Any tags or stampings on the unit. Hope this helps. Simon C

Next Piece of Equipment for Dirt road Mainenance?

I stand to be corrected. It was not a D9G, It was a D9H (Chidog), and frozen stumps at minus 20 come out pretty well along with small poplars. I was able to shear 3 inch poplars with my skidsteer last year in early April at minus 15C in the morning with a Virnig V50 Skeleton grapple with no...

Next Piece of Equipment for Dirt road Mainenance?

Yes it was all pushed in piles. It was all mainly frozen poplars, and half were all rotten. The poplar stumps were just popping out as he advanced with the D9. Of course my brother had to burn piles later. It was not a solid stand of trees but was a lot of big piles later. Yes there was dirt...

Next Piece of Equipment for Dirt road Mainenance?

Your time is worth some money also. A D6 or 7 size dozer or larger could probably in a hurry brake up the rocky areas and rip the sides of the road . Small equipment if in bad conditions can just take forever. A backhoe is no comparison to a 300 size excavator, and a big bulldozer with...

Next Piece of Equipment for Dirt road Mainenance?

I own a Virnig Land Leveller on a John Deere 332G Skid steer to maintain 2 KM's of roads for a oil patch contractor. It is not a grader for putting crown on a road. A farm tractor with an angle blade behind is better at putting a crown on the road if the dirt is not too hard packed. But the...
