How to remove a Lucas Girling parking brake can with broken caging bolts? 1995 F700

Thank you for your input. After further investigation it turns out that I made a mistake and the caging bolts are okay and I can in fact cage the springs. The first time I tried to cage them I had the truck running and with the parking brake on or off I had no resistance on the caging bolt. Then...

How to remove a Lucas Girling parking brake can with broken caging bolts? 1995 F700

I was able to score two brand new (not rebuilds) Euclid # E-6120 parking brake can assemblies on E-Bay for a very, very reasonable price. The reason I bought these is that a few weeks ago when I went to cage my right side parking brake spring there was no preload/resistance when turning the bolt...

Ford Lucas Girling Brake Work in Southern New Hampshire

I tried caging the right can but the weird thing is that with the parking brake engaged or off there is no spring preload or resistance on the right caging bolt as I turn it out to the ~ 2" dimension......weird. So I tried caging the left can to compare them and that is the same.....no feeling...

Hi Everyone- Do any of you know of a shop or individual in the southern New Hampshire area that is reputable and has experience with the dreaded Ford Lucas Girling hydraulic brake systems? My 1995 F700 dump truck has a brake drag issue on the right rear that needs to be taken care of. Either...

1999 JCB 214 Stabilizer Ram Lower Pin Removal Problem

Oceanobob- I'm not making my own pin but am trying to determine how worn the rod eye bushing is. I have replaced "worn" bushings before only to have the same fit with the new oem bushing installed. Just curious as to clearance specs. Thank you for your input, it all makes sense.

1999 JCB 214 Stabilizer Ram Lower Pin Removal Problem

Well I got the best of the pin before it got me but not without a bit of sweat and time! I used an angle ginder with a 7" diameter, 1/16" thin cut off wheel to cut the pin out. With the shaft eye moved to the side of each pin boss there was enough room to get the cutoff wheel in there without...

Hi Everyone- What is the closest match to JCB yellow on a 1999 214 Backhoe? How close is the Cat yellow or the John Deere yellow? Any other applications that are a good match? Thanks in advance for any info! RRRAVEN

1999 JCB 214 Stabilizer Ram Lower Pin Removal Problem

Deon- You have a point there as far as pin hardness and any type of toothed blade!? I'll let you know when I try it. I haven't had time this week to get back to my "friend the pin" so I have no updates as of yet. May be able to get back to it today after work. I plan on keeping my cylinder...

1999 JCB 214 Stabilizer Ram Lower Pin Removal Problem

Hi Everyone- I'm in the process of removing one of my stabilizer rams to install a seal kit. I was able to crack the seal head/gland nut loose with some lube and the peening/tapping method. But I can't for the life of me get the lower pin that goes thru the cylinder eye removed. The cylinder...

1999 JCB 214 Stabilizer Seal Nut Removal

ATCOEQUIP- That is what I have been doing. Rocking the gland nut back and forth and right now I have the stabilizer fully pulled up and have it soaked with penetrating fluid. I also have a much shorter cheater bar to use on my spanner wrench to get a much better feel for how free the gland nut...

1999 JCB 214 Stabilizer Seal Nut Removal

Finally got a chance to try out the peen method on my stabiliser sealhead/nut.........worked like a charm! Still had a 6ft pipe on my wrench but it moved with almost no effort compared to before where it would not budge no matter what. Now I can work it back and forth with some lube to continue...
