    JD 410 Diesel engine problem

Temps can vary quite a bit over the territory. Up north they had quite a snap for the last while with a lot of minus 40. In the "south" we have had a cold stint down to around -30 cel. Has been warm over the last week with -10 being regular. Going down again this week. Nothing like even ten...

    JD 410 Diesel engine problem

Sorry bud but oil is not cheap. I guess if you only run a few hours here and there a leaky machine is only an embarrassment. If running regularly it becomes a financial issue. Any way, I can assure you there is lots that can be wrong in that little JD. There are two balance shafts and a...

    JD 410 Diesel engine problem

The guy is in the USA. Lots of J.D. iron around. If you want new then go new. If it's an old machine and you know what you are looking at putting a reasonably priced used engine (checked out that is) might not be a bad option. How wore out is the rest of the machine? New engines in old junk...

    Track motor problem uh081

Does this machine have pilot operated controls or linkage to the pumps. My 1985 uh 09 has linkage which controls the angle of the swash plates in the pumps. If it is two pumps and linkage it could be that one pump is not going to full stroke. This will cause machine to walk in a circle and the...

    JD 410 Diesel engine problem

You don't have to pull the block but for the amount of work you are talking about you might as well. There is no such thing as getting off super cheap. You can buy a complete engine overhaul kit online fairly reasonably. Probably around $1200. Then you have any work that the head might need...

BC logging equipment left to rust

Wow Skadill! I sure enjoy viewing all your videos on your youtube channel. I notice the partial D8 14a in the pic. I am trying to put one together out of two. I need the brake linkage and booster parts from a late serial # 14a. You are probably the guy who knows where there might be one that...

    D8 14a Restoration

The weathers finally warming up! It's been a lot of minus 30 cel. Going above zero by the end of the week! Thanks for the responses gents. I'll keep hunting for that late ser. # carcass. Hopefully they are not all melted down. Maybe some scrap yard has one?

    955L, 3304 Arrangment #

Take a look on the left side toward the back facing forward. Old 3306's had a tag in this area. I also recall my 3304 in 518 having a tag on the valve cover. Paint can hide numbers.

    D8 14a Restoration

Merry Christmas everyone! I'm in the process of trying to restore an old D8 14a. I have a complete dozer early serial # unit with dry steering clutches(worn out) and a lower frame, final drives, steering clutches and tracks that are in like new condition. I want to switch the trans, eng. and...
