    Kubota KX057/U55 Diverter Valve Question

lol, I was wondering the same thing and came across the same video. That video is wrong. You can clearing see the o ring on the fitting in the video. It's definitely an ORB fitting. I'm about to install some flat face couplers on my KX033-4.

1845c What to Do with Cab Split preventive maintenance question

That's a good list to start with. Ujoint is a frequently overlooked item and parking brakes are a problem area. Keeping the bellypan clean will go a long way. Keep the parking brake pins lubed and make sure they release properly. Chain cases will get water in them. Might be worth making sure...

    Best lifting attachment

Probably overkill, but since I had the welder out. Put 2 chain hooks on for lifting un-even or odd weighted stuff. Also put a mount hole for a clevis to lift with straps. clevis mount is for a bumper weldon for jeep/4x4's.

Running a low flow brush cutter on a high flow machine

This is only true if you have the wrong size motor on the brush cutter for the skid steers flow AND psi. It's much like gearing. You can always trade flow & psi for any speed or torque you want. You do that by changing the size of the motor. Same thing applies to snowblower. Has to match the...

Running a low flow brush cutter on a high flow machine

    Formula is: GPM x PSI / 1714 = HHP 1845c: 16 x 2300 /1714 = 21.47 hp

Running a low flow brush cutter on a high flow machine

Flow x PSI = Hyd HP. Most skid steers the low and high flow will run the same pressure. The speed and torque of the brush cutter depends on the size of it's motor and the Hyd HP provide. Not directly on the flow and PSI. That's why it's important to match the motor size to the skid steer. For...

    Snow insurance.

It's been a strange year. We've had maybe 3 inches total here in MN this year. Haven't used the plow once. Compared to 2018 when I was digging tunnels through the drifts in order to get out.

Best set up to remove snow on gravel driveway

I plowed for many years with an 1845c. It's single speed and would get the job done just fine. It just takes more time for the long driveway. But didn't matter so much around the outbuildings as you just can't go that fast around them. Using an S650 2 speed now. It will do the driveway in half...

Best set up to remove snow on gravel driveway

Got no problem getting a 'curl' off my plow. And it clears my 1500 ft gravel driveway faster than anything else I've tried in the last 25 years. Not that it's been of much use this year.

Best set up to remove snow on gravel driveway

I'll give this a big second. It was what I did originally and although it can work. It's far less than ideal. It worked ok on my 1845C. But most newer skids run higher pressure and flows. I ended up completely rebuilding it, in order to make it work on my S650. Simpler and easier to just buy a...

Best set up to remove snow on gravel driveway

Yup, pack the first couple inches down helps a lot. Dedicated snow tires are the best I've found so far. I also added a gravel guard to my plow blade. Cut a slit in an 1.5 pipe, then tack weld it to the cutting edge of the plow. Works awesome on gravel.

    Cat 257b Track install

    Bobcat T 650

dry the machine out and get it running. then spray a little water on different areas that might be getting wet. when it stops tilting & lifting, that should give you a place to look. frayed wires, loose connection or something cracked.

Why do some skid steers "reach high" but others don't "reach high"?

I heard it explained this way. If most of your work is eye level and below, get a radial lift machine. (more rugged) If your work is above eye level, then you want a vertical lift. (more lift)

Which brand of skidsteers or most DYI friendly

This was the single biggest question I asked when looking for my current skid steer. I usually do all my own work. I wanted a machine I could work on myself. I'm not brand loyal in any way. That boils down to 2 things in my mind. A simpler machine and community support. Simpler to me was...
