    Just a simple Garmin 62. Would be nice to have a topcon for sure! Probably be a extremely worth while investment! But budgets don't always allow for best choices. So we make do with what we got till we can!

    A standard high end GPS, has worked well for us, a little bush wacking, locate radical highs and lows, mark out basic parameters and danger areas for later reference, save to a card, sit down do some math to find volume and as said before compare per truck load! Experience does help but doing...

    With our gravel contracts being urban, a lot of pavement between sites and sand, topsoil and wet spots. Generally if its muddy we're shut down due to tracking it on to the pavement. Question is to the fellow gravel truckers. What tires/ tread patterns have you had the best all round traction...

    Check your driveline for play, I had a drone in my 99 turned out being the spline shaft between the drives! Took to a machine shop and welded an new spline in for half the cost!

    The C 500 series from Kenworth is a popular heavy hauler. Even though it is a Kenworth. Other than that a lot of custom trucks are adapted.

    Those drain pits are unreal! I can't even imagine the costs.But we are in the hills and not too many people build in the the low spots. Grading the property and away from the house are our only concerns!

    It was one of the dumbest "professional" things I've seen in a long time. ILMAO for sure. It was amazing that the outriggers held! That show is annoying and overly repetitive, same with the drama rig towers! some interesting stuff but enough with the DRAMA!

    Geo fabrics under road base

    If your putting down 4"- material as a base then use a geo textile with 3" less holes. THis keeps your product suspended. THe finer the product the finer the holes in your geotextile.
