Why do Demo bids vary in price so much?

It varies with residential, all depends on how the contractors interpret the homeowners needs, very rarely do you have a set of plans to bid off of, its all in how you think the job needs done, and that can change a lot between contractors.

    Steel tracks coming back?

I heard the tracks are supposed to go 5k hours before needing work, comparing that to around 1,200 to 1,500 hours for a set of rubber tracks I could see where it would possibly save money to run the steel tracks.

    Information on basement dig

Our area requires a 16" wide footing x 8" thick, with a 8" thick poured wall centered on the footing. I didn't see in the above conversation, is this house in the country or in a subdivision? If its in a subdivision they usually plan the heights out from the start so nobody puts a house in a...

If the pad is going to be halfway level fab up a post on the 308 blade to hold your laser receiver and go to town, that will help you get it halfway close fairly easily

whats the best quick attach for a hammer/bucket

It should slip in and out fine if you have the hammer curled in so its low enough to the ground, that is as long as the coupler is curled in tight to the pins.

Looking to buy Midi excavator - suggestions?

I would definitely get a offset swing boom on that size machine, handy as a shirt pocket and if its greased regularly you shouldn't too many drastic wear issues. Take a look at the Yanmar vio75 machines, they are built very well and have a quick hydraulic system.

whats the best quick attach for a hammer/bucket

I'd rather slide the safety pin out of a manual pin grabber than be threading/unthreading bolts on a manual wedge lock

    Cooked machines

We have rebuilt a couple skid loaders that were burnt, that ruined the experience for me, if it has gotten anywhere near the engine or hydraulic pumps your just as well of sending it to the scrap yard. The never ending pump leaks and engine trouble because of melted plastic or aluminum blocking...

Why have all the (build 04) stuff and not just do it a 745-4 like the Komatsu machines?

    Modular air

I put a small gas gen set and a walmart cheap window ac unit through the back window of my old cat 215 last summer when it was 100 degrees out, set the temp at 65 degrees and it would fog the windows up for a good 10 minutes in the morning haha
