    Caterpillar Transmission

our TH460B had similar issues. A little more basic. sometimes it would not engage at all. turning the machine on and off a couple of time and it would then work. it finally went kaput. turned out to be in the ECM/Trans control module. About a $4000 fix including the service call to the job...

    Solid Tires for Telehandlers

It would be interesting to see how they do on the beach. (i'm a bit skeptical) They look like a great alternative for rocky, clay, dirt, etc. We use our TH460B (with foam filled) on the beach about 50% of the time. The TH's are the only machines that do well on the beach. The TL's and...

old grey market cat 320 excavator

I'm not up on the 3066 motor, but I once drove an old Pete with a 3208 and it revved to the moon compared to anything else I have ever come across. I would check to see if the proper RPM range would work. I know that 3208 bolted up to a standard fuller bell housing, and the rear ends were...

2006 CAT 287B Running rough only 189 total hours

Ok, so the pump runs, but only when the machine is running. I disconnected the fuel line from the pump to the injection pump and put it in a bottle, then jumped it to get it to pump. Ran it for 20 seconds and only got about 3 oz of fuel. Thinking that the line coming in might be...

CAT 313 BSR Starter Replacement Counterweight Removal?? Really?

I have a 1998 CAT 313BSR Excavator. It has been a great machine. The starter has been on it's last legs for a bit. It finally died. One of my guys (not a mechanic) tried to get it out and was not able to. Had a CAT tech come out who spent 5 hours only to fail as well. Now the...

Online Caterpillar Microfiche? Better place to buy parts?

I hate my local CAT dealer. Their Service SUCKS!! They never stock any parts, so I always have to order them. They are very $$$ in my opinion for what I'm getting. Is there a place online to find the micofiche and order parts from a dealer who isn't LAME!! For motorcycles, there...
