    Cat D6D roller/idler lubrication

    3/8 drive to take bung out, there is a special tool about 6 inchs long top part threaded with a grease nipple looking thing, screw that into roller. then use a oil/ grease gun with the correct oil

    I think some of them old cat dozers had 2 settings on the front idlers you could turn the blocks. I think it was for if you pulled towed scrapers or other setting if on blade

    scrapers interesting reading about scrapers & pushes, my farther claim to fame is he was in the caterpillar film one turn of the earth filmed in the 60's he is on D9 pushing 657 scrapers in the UK, was still operating until he was 75 years of age, he is 80 now still mad to do a shift

    What do you use on under carrriage bolts

    And always give the bolt and the area around it a slap with a big hammer to crack the rust. before undoing the bolt. spent many a day welding nuts to broken bolts to get them out
