I worked in Port Renfrew from 1964 to 1967. Set chokers and was a backrigger. I was a chaser, second loader and finished as landing man a combination of both jobs. I worked a few days on the old skidder, then moved onto #3 slackline skagit tower. Logged the top of Garbage creek,Harris Creek,Granite Creek, the old settings on the Burma Road. I logged thefirst cut on the Gordon River. Worked the early shifts i8n the summer aqnd up to my waist in the snow in winter. After I left Renfrew I worked for a short time at Rayoneer logging at Jordon River,Franklin River then Gold River. I quit logging then went to sea for the rest of my life. I started in the Canadian Coast Guard in Search and Rescue on the R Class Coast Guard cutters as an oiler in the engine room. Worked my way up through the ranks and finished as Senior Engineering Officer.
