    American Crane 11320 Skyhorse

Terex bought out American. I believe you can get the manuals from them.

Very sorry to her this. Although I never met him in person I thought of him as a friend. I will miss him.

    Joy Air Compressor info needed

A lot of the old Joys had the dipstick on the bottom of the filler plug. Not sure if I've seen one that old though.

I can't tell by the picture if that socket is the correct size for the wire on the crane It looks like it's seated close to the correct depth. If it's not then there would be a problem with it. Here's a picture of my current set up. The load cell pins were to big to fit either holes at the dead...

Does this wire rope need to be replaced?

You have your wedge socket wrong on the crane. You never clamp your dead end to your live wire. That prevents your wedge from setting right. There are several ways to do it but I usually cut about a 8" piece of cable off the wire, then after I seat the socket, clamp it to the dead end. Always...

Actually I was only half joking about the bolt shackles. I would prefer to use bolt shackles in this application but wouldn't hesitate to use pin shackles. They have them moused so they won't unscrew. I'm not sure why they used two unless they just wanted to keep the wedge socket inline with the...

So you think they should have used bolt type shackles instead?

anyone have experience with wireless load cell use with a vibratory hammer

I've driven and pulled hundreds of piling over the years and haven't ever removed the load cell. I haven't ever seen one damaged by the vibro either. Ninety percent of my work takes place on a barge so I like to know what what kind of weight I've got on the hook. With out a load indicator you...

Crane is thumping, air in hydraulics??

It sounds like you have an accumulator that has lost its Nitrogen charge. Without the Nitrogen pressure to cushion the oil the pump bypass valve will surge in and out. Does it have a pressure gauge? You should see the pressure surge. Seems funny it goes away though when you throttle up.

    Logging Equipment Pictures

I some how missed this post. I've been down in Seattle setting up another barge for a job we have in Old Harbor and ran across this machine on one of Boyers Barges in their yard. I believe they were getting ready to rebush the grapples. This thing is a beast. Boyer never sold out to Northland...

    Open Gear Grease

To lube the boom slides on our squirt boom I always used Fluid Film. I also used it to lube the lines. It is the best stuff I ever found for a salt water environment. It comes in aerosol but we bought it in 5 gallon pails.

    Open Gear Grease

I've always used Chevron Open Gear Lube in the chalking tubes. They make it in aerosol cans too but it doesn't last as long. You pretty much have to warm the tubes up to use them. Longest lasting stuff I've ever found.

    Name this dozer

I've seen several different types of those. John Deere had one. Fiat Allis had them. They are used in Grape Vineyards to straddle the trees. https://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=2884 There is another one with the John Deeres here somewhere.

    National 800 series

Load Chart should have all pertinent information like range diagram hook weight and wire rope specs. Make sure it comes from the manufacturer with the serial number of the crane stamped on it. It also has to be permanently attached to the machine. You also must have an Overhead Electrical Hazard...
