    Earthworks Estimating

Thanks softearth. I think this is the type of software I'm looking for. Have already started using a mix of TBC and Microsoft Project but am going to look into this software for future projects. Regards,

    estimating software

Paydirt is/was a great program, however it is no longer being developed. All the new development and functionality at the end of the development of the software will be put into TBC and the takeoff module. To compare a software to Agtek I'd probably look at the surface tools and full takeoff...

    Market for finish 3D grading?

Are you benching the grader when using UTS (SPS930)?

    Skid Steer Attachements

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The Tobin blade looks like it'd be a fantastic tool for shaping to finished grade but after careful assessment I've decided that the bobcat dozer blade is going to be the best for what I'm doing. I need to mount a mast and sensors on the attachment so that I can...

    Skid Steer Attachements

Hey Guys, Wondering if anyone could make a recommendation for a box blade attachment or something similar. I am trying to get into corners of a parking lot, currently have a grader blade attachment but the wheels in front keep me a few meters away from the corner. I am also planning on...

    Topcon Sitelink 3D

Hello, Is anyone using Topcon SiteLink 3D? I'm wondering a few things on the system: 1. How easy is it to use? 2. How accurate are the volumes coming out of the system? 3. Does it offer any productivity increasing assistance or is it simply a snapshot of existing conditions? 4. Any...

    Trimble GCSFlex

Also, GCSFlex is now upgradeable to full GPS which makes it a very reasonable way to get into the machine control market and still maintaining the ability to upgrade to full functionality later.

    Need gps/ machine control help

I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything without glonass. You may not be able to currently purchase new gear but what about purchasing the install kits "machine control ready" and renting the expensive part (control box, receivers, radio). As you are a smaller contractor, you will likely not...

GPS on Large machines ??such as D8,D9..ETC

I think GPS should be on any equipment that moves earth. Even marginal productivity increases on larger machines vs smaller machines mean greatly increasing your ROI (on the GPS) as you'd expect to move a lot more material with say a D10 over a D5.

In The Market For GPS Rover And Base Station

If you are looking to go to machine control in the future you don't want to mix brands as it becomes a real pain. Trimble is more expensive and always will be as that is the segment of the market that they are in, however they will typically deliver newer technologies faster for that price...

Trimble Business Center or Insite sitework

I've got experience with TBC, its easy to use once you've got an understanding of the way its laid out. It depends on what work you are looking to do.

    3D Modeling

Your dealer should be able to provide you with release notes that will show you what has been added or changed which should make it easier to adjust. Looking forward to the new look of TBC in 2.8!

    estimating software

Hey JDecker, I'm assuming you've purchased something by now but to TBC has got a great heads up digitizing interface. It also has the ability to import vector pdf's which can be handy and faster than digitizing in most circumstances. Cheers,

    Earthworks Estimating

What has your experience been with earthworks estimating software? I'm currently using Trimble's Business Center to generate my volumes, cut/fill maps and site mass hauls however am looking to go to the next level. Does anyone have recommendations of software to use to estimate the time...
