Equipment to erect 40x80x18 steel building

So after thinking about it a while and talking to a few friends, I decided I will rent my neighbor's 8k telehandler off of him. He gets a little extra cash, as its not used frequently, and I can pretty much use it all I want. So the time crunch rental clock thing isn't an issue. As much as I...

Front Backhoe tires. What brands are good / bad?

I have some "power king" tires that have held up well. I highly reccomend you have your front tires foam filled. Cost me about $650 to have them foamed and was worth every penny.

Yes, I have an operator. I am curious as to why you would prefer a telehandler?

Equipment to erect 40x80x18 steel building

This is a 1993 Grove RT518 I was looking at. 65’ of boom. $25,000. 3100 hrs. Apparently it was owned by a fabricator for 20 years then was sold as the kids didnt want to take over the business. What should be inspected on a crane that’s different from excavators and dirt equipment? Since the...

Equipment to erect 40x80x18 steel building

I should have permits to build my shop in a few weeks. I wanted opinions on what I should get to raise the columns, rafters, and purlins with. None of the picks will be heavy, but I’d prefer not to drive anything on the slab as it will still be pretty green, so I was thinking an RT crane. Also...

    Phase Out of Non-Emission Engines

Both of my trucks came from California. I got an 86 Freightliner FLC in 2021 when the first round was implemented. Then, in Jan 2023 I bought an 03 Freightliner Classic with a detroit S60 from another guy in California. Then I also bought a 710G backhoe out of Santa Cruz CA that was gotten rid...

    Now Just Suppose

Personally, I feel like Kubota and Bobcat hydraulics are both sluggish. I have operated a Deere 17g before some, and I enjoyed it. I would go for the Deere. I think they are about $34k new here. I had a Kubota that had endless DPF and electrical problems, so I hate them. Also, a 26 is a huge...

    Overload of the Day

Some of the worst drivers I see out there pulling stuff are definitely penske trucks, RVs and horse trailers. The RV loophole should be closed IMO, how does the non commercial use of a vehicle make it not eligible for CDL licensing??

    Commercial construction work pictures

Yep. Coincidentally, I just replaced my steer tires today. Also they were exactly the same as yours, the Ironman 301. I Put some Michelin take offs that I found on Craigslist on the truck. Everyone likes new rubber.
