  • I recently purchased a Case 855E. It has a hole in the block and in the oil pan. I have a 6BT out of a Dodge Cummins Truck. I wanted to know if the Blocks are the same and if I can use the Dodge 6BT Block and swap all the parts from the Case over to it and use it. I have access to a 6BT that came out of a Bus, and one that came out of a Generator. Do you know the best route to go? Thanks Carlton

Need to post this on a specific site as in Track Loaders, will get more people to see it. For a little info, the Dodge Cummins is set up wrong, advance is for road use, HP curve will not be for the duty it will need to take over. Need to fire this across to the Case boys where they will understand the internals better as to the different variants.

The block and heads are the same as long as they are both 12 valve engines. All you need to do is swap the injection pump and injectors with your old engine and change the timing for injection pump to the 855 engine. I've had some experience with swapping the engines from dodge to like a 9030b case excavator and always had to change fuel system over for them to rum right.
