    Could it be an oversupply after the downturn? Maybe they had a long term contract to build machines in anticipation higher demand, and maybe they were already built and have a new model coming out or something.

    I think personally the best determination of best price is good market research, and trawling through different marketplaces to find a fair value. Couple that with a few probing phone calls to see how low someone will go, and you're on the right track ( that's in my own experience).

    There's alot of companies starting to use ERP's ( Enterprise resource planning) software companies, who help them sell their stuff moreso than finding work. They do stuff like manage advertising on sites for clients- maintaining the inventory database etc. They go much further than that too if...

    You can stick one want-ad up for free on most machinery classified sites. Might be more effective for you. Have you tried that?

    Same over here in Ireland - the government owns everything - so by extension, whoever owns them gets the licences :D It's so bad here that it is illegal (and actively prosecuted) to use a metal detector unless it is your own land, and even then you need a permit - there's so much undiscovered...
