    Takeuchi TL130 fuel guage

Pray it's a sending unit. You don't buy individual gauges for a tl130. You get the entire cluster for nearly $1000 when I busted mine up a few years ago from a cab intrusion. The cluster is easy to get apart and out but you have to swap hour meter and all at that point. I'd look hard at the...

Ok. So I need new tracks. Recommendations for a Takeuchi tl140?

Those look like Hiqual tracks which are an OEM option from Takeuchi. I just bought a set of them for my tl130 this summer. Bout 200 hours on them so far and I love them. They ride good and bite really well. They clean out much better in mud than a C pad. They aren't really turf friendly is their...

Takeuchi tracked popped off then back on!

You're one mighty lucky fella! If a track jumps off in the mud it's always resulted in me getting very muddy as well, never had one put itself back on. I'd be checking my track tension and thanking the good Lord he didn't make you roll in the mud like a pig. John

    Part Time Business worth?

I did just that. I work in law enforcement and worked 12 hour shifts. That left me 14 days a month that I wasn't working. I started with a 95 John Deere 8875 skid steer and already owned a 3/4 ton truck and trailer. First thing up is insurance. Mine is for the most part based off past and...

Case d100 hoe attachment needs hydraulic seals

Mine swung really fast. I added flow restrictors in the swing hoses to make it a little friendlier. I miss it some days for some things, because it was so handy to grab it and the skid steer and go to work. Kind of a traditional tlb for some projects. I added some redneck engineered travel...

    Buried powerline depth

In my area of MO primary services are now required to have 30" of cover over the conduit, once it comes out of the meter 24" or less depending on the power company. I dug one up last week the was 4ga Aluminum direct bury that was less than 6" of cover on the primary service. It was installed...

Case d100 hoe attachment needs hydraulic seals

I had a Case D100 set up for a skid steer. I horse traded for it knowing it needed new seals. Case dealer told me the seals were obsolete but they could gladly sell me new glands and caps for about $750. That was more than I had on the machine. I hit up Swan Engineering in Kansas City, KS and...

Bobcat E50 vs full sized backhoe

A mini ex makes time against a backhoe in tight quarters and maneuverability. If I have a lot of trench and plenty of room my backhoe is my go to. If I have to work in tight spaces and fit in little backyards my mini ex quickly makes up time just because it's more maneuverable. How much time...

New tracks: Prowler Vs MWE Vs...?

I just bought a set of Hi Qual s wave tracks about 2 months ago. So far I love them. They outweigh my previous generic C Pad tracks by a lot and are thicker. They pull like a straight bar but ride nicer on hard ground. I got a little over 100 hours on them and they still have the casting marks...

what track loader is best for clearing off over grown land with osage orange

We started out about 20 years ago to clear some overgrown hedge and locust brush. We started clear cutting it. That was slow, labor intensive and left the stumps. As it rains on the stump and cows stomp around them they get taller. They will also sprout back with a vengeance. Dad bought a 941...

Unwise to drive telehandler 1-2 miles...slowly??!!

I rented one a few years ago and drove it about 2 miles across town. Just be sure you check the steering switch. When I pulled out onto the road from the lot it was set to crab steer. That got kind of interesting. John

Loading a 4 ton minni x in a single axle dump truck?

Before I bought my dual tandem trailer I pulled a little 16ft 5 ton trailer a lot. If I needed my skid steer and mini ex I let the tailgate down on the dump truck, drove the mini up the trailer and then hopped it over into the dump truck. Then I'd load the skid steer on the trailer. One of the...

    Leaking swing cylinder

I agree with Uffex, if you disconnect the hydraulic hoses to "stop" the hydraulic leaks then the cylinder will be able to float back and forth with little to no resistance. You would have to fabricate some sort of solid link to replace the cylinder otherwise your boom will just swing around...

1988 Cat 953 - Caterpillar. My First Track Loader

Retaining walls are good money makers! Especially when someone else has screwed them up to start with. I've rebuilt several behind other "contractors" and especially homeowners. Seems lots of homeowners with some ambition will price block at the big box store and a rental mini ex for a weekend...

    Tl 130 wont move

Check the plug for the lap bar switch. Mine is prone to corrosion now and then. Usually plug/unplug a few times and the spades will bite through it, but on a couple of occasions I've had to take the pins out of the plug and clean them with my pocket knife. John
