Western Canada - Experienced Cat controlled excavator operator and some dozer exp.

My experience is mainly on excavators in the size range of 200 - 330 class, but also occasionally on machines ranging from 80 to 600 class machines, in the functions of: • Loading trucks with soil / rock aggregate, demolition debris, and wood debris • Land clearing (including working in...

    anyone used a Hitachi ex225 or zx225?

The ZX225 USLC are the true zero turns, the ZX225 USR are in between and the plain Zaxis 225 is conventional. I am still a fan of conventional machines, I prefer their layout over the zero turns, but I will admit they did a much better job designing the zero turns then I would have thought possible.

    anyone used a Hitachi ex225 or zx225?

The Zaxis 225s are good machines in my opinion, although to me they seem to not be as smooth as the EX-5s when they have some hours on them, but still good machines from an operator standpoint.

Does anyone have any leads on work in the Western half of Canada?

The first company I worked for was such a company, and there were some very trying times but I learned tonnes of experience there. It was like being thrown directly into battle right out of basic training. I had the advantage of being trained by the company and a very good heavy equipment...

Does anyone have any leads on work in the Western half of Canada?

Frenchy, thank you very much!!! I had seen them working a pipeline this summer and completely forgot about them. They were almost too large that they were out of the scope of my job looking. I am sending off a request for employment right now. Thanks again for the help!

Does anyone have any leads on work in the Western half of Canada?

I was wondering how it is doing up there with the falling price of oil. I was hoping that all things were still going, but there doesn't seem to be any more job postings coming from there recently. What I'd give right now for a 60+ hour a week camp job putting bush roads or the like in.

Thanks Frenchy. Yeah its supposed to be happening this year last I heard, but I haven't heard of it being a big full-bore project yet. Does anyone know is it underway (and if so who is doing it?), and is it being done a little at a time or is it a larger project?

Does anyone have any leads on work in the Western half of Canada?

Hey guys, does anyone have any leads on any work out there, projects going in / any companies that are still going right now? It is so dead here on the west coast right now I'm getting quite concerned. I've never had a problem having a job as an operator but there is no work here and hasn't been...

    lineboring

I always wet down those areas real well before any hot works. It doesn't take much for a welding splat or spark to extinguish when falling into a wet spot, not compared to when it gets going into a grease fire. Perhaps he did the same.

    Any Owner/Operators?

Mass-X, what did you end up doing? How did it work out? I'm in the position now that your were in a couple years back, it would be easy to sign on for a machine and I know I have some work, but not knowing if it is enough in this turbulent economy is what's got me looking 3 times before crossing...
