Help with replacing slack adjusters on a Deere 550B

1980's John Deere 550B dozer. I'm replacing the slack adjusters. I got this far without issue. Any idea how to remove the old tubes so I can put the new ones in place? Are they a press fit? Weld on some chain and pull? Any help is appreciated.

My first track loader. Allis Chalmers HD5G.

After many years of salivating over these machines I came across one that is seemingly in pretty good shape and was in my price range. I looked at it way back when over Fathers Day weekend and hauled her home last week finally, a 850 mile round trip between South Jersey and upstate NY...

    HD5G, looking for some insight.

So temptation got the best of me and I went to look at this yesterday. Started right up cold, hardly any smoke, 2-71 runs like a clock. Undercarriage seems tight, crawls very quietly and smooth. Needs bucket pivot pins and bushings rebuilt and there is a lot of slop in the gear shifter. I have...

Help me find the right backhoe/tractor - list of requirements

I have an 11HD Bradco hoe that's going on the back, it's on my list of things to do. Also, the 3 point hitch is hydraulically controlled so you can grade roads with a pitch to them. I will put a quick tach setup on the front at some point and they are available with an enclosed cab.

Help me find the right backhoe/tractor - list of requirements

You want a New Holland 545D. 10,000lbs not including the backhoe. 4,500lb lift capacity to 10'6" all around the most stout machine you can find with a 3 point hitch and 540 pto.

    Vandalism proof cap removal.

OK, I have a vandalism proof cap for the hydraulic tank on my Ford/New Holland 545D. Does anyone know how to remove these? Thanks in advance.

1985 JD 210C, cost of hydraulic pump?

I'm looking at a Deere 210C, owner says it needs a new front hydraulic pump. Any idea on the price of that, $1,000, $10,000? Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

    275,00 on F350 7.3 ?? Too many ? What would you do ?

My company truck is up to 360,000 now. I put 39,000 on it this year and the quarter mod under one of the UVCH's has been my only hiccup this year engine wise. The truck had a new bedside put on it, tires, rear leaf springs, front end work, brakes, serpentine belt and basic maintenance. So we put...

My Trojan 114 tractor shovel thread.

Didn't realize I already posted this picture, lol. I haven't really done too much to the machine lately. I was going to have the injectors rebuilt but have not had the time needed to get them out. I also need to rebuild the bottom of the bucket or source a new bucket all together. She's a great...

Time for new F350, 2014 or wait for 2015?

I talk to just about EVERY person I can who has a new truck. Last week, a landscaper with a 2014 F550, 6.7 diesel. I asked hows it running? He replied good this week, we'll see about next week. I'd say I talk to about 6-8 people with horror stories to the one person who is tickled pink. I...

Ever Install Brake Controller on Hino?

The control side of the factory relay uses the negative side of the circuit for switching purposes which is unorthodox but fine, it will work. I am guessing they save some copper as its closer to ground most times than the positive side of the circuit at hand. Chances are that the relay is...

Any F350 experts on here? engine & transmission swap question

Damn Mike, you're making good progress. The loader looks great too. Yours is in much better shape than mine but that's ok, I'm happy to have it around. So you're basically doing a frame and cab swap? I hope you are saving the rears. Are they that bad rust wise? The D60 front will fetch $5-700...
