    C3.3B EGR Block Plate

I tried using the search function, it says "EGR" is too short and won't search for it. Can someone who has blocked their EGR on a C3.3B help a brother out? Did you buy a custom plate somewhere or just shove some sheet metal in there and seal it?

How many bolts hold pump on CAT 289D?

I'm probably gonna need OEM tool on other side, but this worked as an emergency setup. Stubby 12 point 14mm ratcheting wrench. Short length 3/8" drive ratchet with a 1/2" drive adapter. Put the 1/2" adapter in the open wrench end and use as a leverage point. Required cussing is 7/10.

How many bolts hold pump on CAT 289D?

And for anyone in the future looking to pull the motor in these, shop mechanic said they don't disconnect anything on the pump. Leave all the hoses on, get the bolts out, ratchet strap the pump towards front of machine. Yank engine and be done with it. The hoses and everything will support the...

How many bolts hold pump on CAT 289D?

I've got that tool, just typical shop manuals, 3 hoses I'm gonna have to remove on the hydraulic tank to access the right side. Took machine to dealer to clear codes last week and one of the mechanics "accidentally" left the OEM tool in my cab.

How many bolts hold pump on CAT 289D?

The reference photo is from engine removal instructions for my 289D (thanks Nige). How many bolts hold the pump on? I can only find 1 on the "driver" side (if you're looking forward in the machine, on the left). Is there another identical 12 point 14mm bolt on the "passenger" side? I can't see a...

    Cat 289D Ride Control??

Much appreciated. Now I have to figure out how the hell I will get it off the CD, I have 7 computers at my disposal and not a single one has a CD reader on it. Sign of the times.

    Cat 289D Ride Control??

And all the pictures on the toggle switches are worn off, so I'm constantly playing a game of "what does this do?"

    Cat 289D Ride Control??

Correct, I got this thing for a steal off of IronPlanet, no manual, no instructions, had to bring my own key lol.

    Cat 289D Ride Control??

I think that my 289D has this feature but I have no clue how to use it. Any suggested reading or watching on how this whole thing works? I have no idea what a nitrogen accumulator does.

289D Is there a front underbody drain?

Thanks for the reply, I didn't get under the machine while cleaning but I didn't finally find an oval hole at the front of the machine. Maybe 1" x 2" total, it was totally plugged up, as expected.

289D Is there a front underbody drain?

I recently bought a used 289D and it has a thick layer of mud under the cab when you lift it, also standing water. Is there a drain somewhere up there that is plugged it is it all supposed to drain towards the rear?

    Cat 289D codes 600-3 and 1076-5

I have officially derailed this thread....... I found an old thread that one of you posted engine removal instructions, it doesn't seem that bad honestly except for separating the pump from the motor. There is an OEM tool called out for reaching a nut it looks like?

    Cat 289D codes 600-3 and 1076-5

I have to completely remove mine to get at the DPF, is there anything special I need to do when disconnecting the hydraulic fittings, or just make sure they don't get a bunch of debris in them?

    Cat 289D codes 600-3 and 1076-5

Thank you for posting that parts diagram. At the risk of sounding really, really stupid, is this assembly supposed to rotate up if you remove the rear bolts? I have a 2016 289D and it looks like it is on a swivel, but I don't want to try and force it.
