    D6 R oil pan repair/replace

If it's like the 6R I had AAX series, it had an NPT plug. I always wondered why, Cat had straight thread plugs with a copper gasket forever why change to NPT

turning up fuel on the D8

Sounds like a win, not uncommon for black smoke on those big turbos until they get wound up.

    D7E 48A starter issue

Agree on the bad ground, replace the ground switch if it doesn't have a distinct click, follow and clean where the cable ends into the machine.

    thoughts on Cat's new D6?

It is a good concept, the thing that stood out in the specs is the weight, unless it's a mistake it weighs 1/2 what my 6R did. Power and weight are what get the dirt moved. Maybe it's more of a finish dozer to take the place of the 6K

Equipment Sale / Purchase Info Please

Do a search on UCC filing for your state , that should lead you down a path to check the serial # for liens, you may need some help to search possibly from your bank. UCC stands for Uniform Commercial Code, any lien would show up there. Not sure on the theft, your Case dealer may have a hot...

    Dozer Owner Operator

I owned dozers for 30 years but they were a support machine to scrapers. Can't say I would have survived on dozer work only. You are in a pro union area and that may make it tougher unless you go in the Engineers as an owner operator. Unless you have connections for hour work you would need a...

    D8H grease fitting

No fitting, the outer bearing on an H is lubed thru the dead shaft with final drive oil pumped thru a passage in the shaft.

To add grouser bars or not?

That is a nice job Rusted, double trouble lol

To add grouser bars or not?

I guess I'm the devils advocate but here is how I think. If the drive train is going to fail it will anyway another inch of grouser isn't going to make that happen. If you run those pads to the bolts it will be to late. If you are going to do it use grouser bar, it is available in 10 ft lengths...

To add grouser bars or not?

I say yes because the trailing edge of the pad is good not scalloped out. If you have the time and know how to regrouser the pads they can be used on the next set of rails.

    D4D Forward to Reverse

There is a trans interlock in the trans cover that works on the clutch linkage, it locks the shifter forks in gear when the clutch is engaged preventing popping out of gear, it could be out of adjustment. Do you push the clutch lever all the way forward when trying to shift? This disengages the...

OMG wtf is this? D4h 3204 engine

Not so sure about the seal spring, take another look there is a solid straight end. A better photo would help.
