Does the anxiety of the night before a new job ever go away?

No, I'm legal, its has just got so bad in Arizona, that you have to go to court for just having a side marker light not working! Then its wastes your morning/afternoon if you get stopped, and everyone knows that if you had a brand new rig, they could find at least ten things to write up on it if...

    need opinion of this 580L

It looks a little rough, that's for sure! It's not a turbo, or a Super L. It has the standard seat, not a suspension set as well. The leaks in the rams and hoses are no bid deal. I have seen complete cylinder packing sets on Ebay for around $300.00. How are the pins and bushings?? You can get...

What are you using to haul your heavy equipment?

I haul my 580SL with a F-550 and a Gooseneck. I run out at 34,000 CGW. The F-550's GVW is 17,500, the Gooseneck is 20,000 which gives my 37,500lbs to play with. If you go this route, make sure you keep the trailer brake working properly!

Does the anxiety of the night before a new job ever go away?

I never get the butterflies about the job itself, I get the butterflies worrying about getting popped by D.O.T. on my way to and from the job.

    Cat vs Case backhoes?

I really think it all depends on which Hoe you learned on. I learned on a 580B which I still own, granted the Hoe has been removed from it and a gannon fitted. I now own with a 580SL Series 2 4x4 extendahoe with O-Rops. I prefer Case controls on whatever machine I happen to sit on, so much...
