CAT 430F IT Coupler not disengaging?

I am positive I am just being dense or missing something stupid. I haven't taken the 4 in 1 bucket off in at least 3 years. First quick hydraulic coupling popped right off. The 2nd needed penetrating oil and an embarrassing amount of time to get broke free. Like I was beside myself there for a...

First time buying a 55 gallon drum of engine oil. Tips?

They told me they only have 1 gallon jugs and 55 gallon drums. I would prefer gallon jugs or 2.5 gallon. But I was tired of constantly trying to find a good price on oil every 6 months. And switching to this Phillips 66 is going to allow me to run one oil instead of 2 or 3. I went and bought...

First time buying a 55 gallon drum of engine oil. Tips?

I didn't necessarily think it would go bad. I was just thinking moisture would somehow get to it? I don't know. I guess it isn't much different than opening up a 5 gallon drum and then it's a whole year before I use the rest sometimes. Maybe I'm just kinda nervous as I don't usually have more...

First time buying a 55 gallon drum of engine oil. Tips?

A new commute is going to bring my oil usage up to around 20 gallons a year. Up until now I have run 5w40 Mobil Delvac 1 ESP in some things and Rotella T6 in the rest. And I chased the rebates which usually worked out well. But the last time around Mobil stiffed me on my rebate (has happened...

@LN Pipeline Can you give me their #? Need to move my backhoe and a few tools/attachments from south of Missoula area over near to Billings.

Cat 430 lower swing tower pin broke.

This is what CAT sent me. 130-2533: 155MM LONG LINKAGE PIN 602-7896: LINKAGE PIN 213-6702: 64.093MM OUTSIDE DIAMETER SLEEVE BEARING 236-8158: SLEEVE BEARING (BUSHING) 341-9843: BRACKET (This part has been indirectly replaced) 341-9488: LINKAGE PIN I know I need retaining rings, and a couple...

Cat 430 lower swing tower pin broke.

It happens from time to time. If all of my work here on our property was on flat ground I’d probably get away with not doing it, or at least rarely. But it does happen. That bottom pin has only ever seemed to push grease out of one side. I’ll definitely keep a better eye on that. Maybe I’ll try...

Cat 430 lower swing tower pin broke.

Can I just replace the associated pins, bushing/s, retainer/s on this thing and then move on with life? Who would your first call be to? I do not have a shop nor a big gantry or anything like that. Machine has around 6700hrs on it. This thing has been squeaking hard. I was greasing it every few...

Tore up the 24" backhoe bucket on my CAT 430F. Appreciate suggestions on sourcing another.

I think this is going to work out. In the really hard stuff it's slightly better. In the middling stuff it fly's through. And then obviously in the soft stuff it's the same aside from getting smaller scoops. I'm getting some sticking in the bucket so at least in the colder winter temps I'm glad...

Purchasing first TLB and need advice

Ship the machine? I think you are looking at this the wrong way. You should probably be working your deal to include a reduced cost of having one of their mechanics come to you.

    short cuts kill

The original post in this thread, what did the operator do? I've never moved anything that heavy and am not familiar with that trailer. Did he skip a hydraulic leg or some sort of ramps, and try to just dive off the end with some little cribbing stacked up and it didn't work out the way he thought?

Looks brand new to me. Maybe someone scratched at something once to test the machine, but I suspect it was pulled from a new machine in favor of something else, then got put in inventory as used. Could be wrong.

OMG, no thanks! Question, do you 'spose that happens fast enough that you feel that weightless stomach drop sensation?

Tore up the 24" backhoe bucket on my CAT 430F. Appreciate suggestions on sourcing another.

Well just got off the phone with a sales guy at my local CAT and he said he found the same style of bucket I have now but in an 18" width at a store over in Idaho. Should be here Friday. Said it's used but in good condition, $750. As long as it uses the same tips/teeth that I already have on the...

Tore up the 24" backhoe bucket on my CAT 430F. Appreciate suggestions on sourcing another.

A brand new 12" bucket from CAT was IIRC $1450. I called a used equipment dealer and they want $1150 shipped for the same bucket in well used condition. As to the rest of your post if you'd read this short thread you'd have seen I plan to repair this bucket myself. But it will most likely be a...
