    Which CTL for pool excavation.

I purchased a 289D a couple of weeks ago that I really like so far. It replaced a Kubota SVL 75 with about 2500 hrs that was beginning to have issues and the dealers around here (North Atlanta) don't seem to understand the speed of service needed for folks who make money with their equipment vs...

    Transport Question

Do you still need the machine hauled back to Atl? The guy I use is making a delivery to Moorefield, WVA in about 8/9 days and coming back to North Atlanta.

    College Degrees???

War Eagle! Auburn--Marketing. My father and Grandfather are both CE grads from Auburn. Being in Atlanta, most of the respected GC's have several AU BSC graduates. My close friend and best client is a grad of the AU program and loved every bit of it. I went with him to the BSC...

I have a 250 gallon poly tank, which I put on the truck and place the pressure washer on the ground. The gravity flow has always worked fine for me.

    OK all you demo experts

I was talking about 20 cans for a job I was bidding, not the house Bigdan was quoting.

    OK all you demo experts

I did mean twenty 30CY cans. Nac, curious as to how many cans you would estimate for a 3200 SF Hardee's Restaurant?

    OK all you demo experts

I also am no demo expert, but here's how I go about estimating volume. I take the square footage of the building and then estimate how tall the footprint pile will be once the building is down. I do the math and get the CY and then add about 20-25% for air in the cans.(That's for wood frame...

Question about sending stuff to the landfill

If it will get into the bucket, I put it in the can. A few years ago I loaded an old Ford Courier pick up in to a 40 yard along with some house demo debris. I also burried an old underground heating oil tank in with some demo debris. I did have the tank pumped, but there was still oil pouring...

Actually, I think I remember my father saying that line as he chewed a couple of dozen TUMS each day!

    Question on site work

The type of sites I bid require a hard bid on everything. Mostly 1-3 acre commercial sites for fast food, banks and strip centers. The restaurants typically start within a couple of weeks of bid, so it's not too bad. Some of the developer work is months off into the permitting abyss(I'm in...

How did you get your start as an operator?

I am new here, but this thread had me going down memory lane. Like several of you, I had a huge project in my backyard with the Tonkas. I had the 1/2" and 3/4" conduit for storm drain, with 4" PVC catch basins. My family was in the road building business in Columbus, GA, so whenever I was...
