    Dozer tree spear

Cedars around here which are much bigger than 8” will break off at the ground before you pull the stump. If you push a cedar here you will be digging the stump up, which is not near as bad as other species. Maybe your soil is different enough to prevent this.

    Sooooo... How's everyone's quarantine going?

Great news and the quarantine! Too bad about being laid off though. Are you working on machines primarily for the industry?

    Small Stick Welder

As far as I know Tinkerer, those are about the last of the all mechanical machines. They should be around for a while. I was thought to weld with a 1952 GE AC welder that had a garden hose for insulation on the ground. It is still going. Very similar to the way these will be years for now.

    Mother Nature is showing off

As far as I know we are supposed to get it after midnight when it is a good bit cooler and has lost strength. I have not heard of any alerts expected here.

    Hydraulic cylinders

It is done all the time at hydraulic shops. Threading would the worst part I think. Some are welded right, but a lot have a couple passes on and call it good until it breaks. We break one of those every now and then.

Tinkerer, that is the exact machine as my Miller Thunderbolt. I am not sure if you have hot start or not. Mine does not. I am not entirely sure I like hot start anyway. I prefer a dry candle that will light like it is supposed to:) My machine was purchased around 20 years ago. Never done...

    Small Stick Welder

The first welder I ever bought personally would have been Miller Thunderbolt AC/DC. I was still carrying around schoolbooks at the time:) it has been a good machine for the twenty years hence....sitting less than 15’ from me right now. It is not my go to machine really, but it works when you...

Which stickmate do you have? Looks like they branded a couple different machines as Stickmates.
