My new 2013 cat d6k2 with trimble gcs900

You can set them up without the data collector. Yours must be set to default to auto-base, so if it can't find a previously used location it reads error and won't transmit data. You can go in settings and choose app file default or base anywhere and it will make up it's location and start...

    Bonding

Went through all this and thought the same thing. Way my bond agent said it to me was " If your wife won't sign for you why would we". Just a necessary evil and don't screw these jobs up.

For 2D you need an affordable base, really don't even need the rover unless you want to localize your elevations of the job site. Been down this road lots of times if you have any questions. If you come up with a base all you have to do set the base up and go bench on a known elevation and work...

    Quarry leases

I am going to keep bugging you guys. I appreciate all the information you have given so far. For those of you leasing ground for your crushing operations, how do you structure your lease agreements as far as pay and length of contract. Assume the rock is of good quality. Keep in mind in our area...

Do you consider that combination of engine, transmission, and chassis to be an efficient way to move rock. Overall cheaper cost of chassis and operation?

Wanted to see if anyone is running a newer PX9 engine with Allison autos. Don't need jibber jabber about big liter engines. Just wanted to see who runs them and if they had advantages and what they disliked.

    Quarry power supply

Just seeing what the popular opinion is for powering quarry spreads. Municipal power seems like the simplest but load management throws a wrench into it but maintaining gen-sets does not look that appealing either. What do you guys run and why?

Is anybody running a Trimble GCS900 on a pull type scraper? Want to set one up but have found very little information.

    Commercial site utilities

Thats pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking, the biggest hurdle for me is puttin the numbers to it having not done it before.

    Commercial site utilities

We are a smaller excavation company and only been in the game for a few years but have had very good success on the commercial site-prep side of things, however, it seems like the next obvious step would be to start rolling site utilities into our bid packages. Most all our competitors do some...

    Who Builds Your Models?

We have ours custom built. Only ran a few of them so far but they seem to work out ok. My only trouble is I would like to see them cleaned up some, like get rid of small parking lot islands.
