What Model Is This Galion Grader?
I think this one might have a switch, its all hydraulic, even the saddle lock, I thought it might need some elbow grease to get the pin out, but this has definitly got a hydraulic pin. I think it might be the non-descript toggle switch on top of the pedestal, coz I haven't found any other...- Bellboy

Cat K series Motorgraders
The K series is sort of a rerun of the H, but between the H and the K something went missing. Quality. The K series does not match up the H (can't speak for an M), but it really is not smooth on the shifting, the brakes are shoddy, I'm running a 20 year old galion that is better than a 5 month...- Bellboy

While we're on the topic of old galions, I have a quick question... How does one operate the saddle locking pin? The model I'm on is a T500D, loving the gradomatic crashbox, but i just can't figure out how to operate the saddle pin. Any help please guys?- Bellboy

How do you operate a skidder?
Interesting... It seems you do selective felling (terminology?) of natural forests (concept?), whereas down here we grow genii like pine, eucalyptus and acacia for our commercial timber needs; pine for saw-logs (mostly), eucs for pulp and paper, acacia for bark and timber (timber is crooked...- Bellboy

uMngeni Water Pipeline
As promised, some pics of the going's on for the uMngeni water pipeline here in Pietermaritzburg. The photo's that follow were taken on a 5.8km stretch of the pipeline from a purification plant to the World's View reservoir. The pipes are pretty big, with a diameter of between 1m and 1.2m, and...
