    New John Deere Grader coming.

I'll try to get the part# just to compare. It's just ridiculous that we don't even get 4 hrs on some of those hoses. Anyway, the issue is almost resolved: we just traded the two 872g we have for 160M AWD.

    New John Deere Grader coming.

We have two 872G and five 14M. From a maintenance point of view (mine), they both have their weaknesses. I'm not impress having to drain tranny oil on the deere and the quality of their hydraulic hoses leave to be desired ( and they won't warranty them past the first year). Cat has some routing...

    14M Windows breaking?

And even then, you'll still have the issue. Been running the rubber mount for over 4 years on 2 different batches of machines and still crack the darn windows : too much flex in the door frame, poor latches and having to push the bottom of the door to close it from the outside creates enough...

    Slope Meter

Off topic but couldn't resist.... I was going through some documentation for some of our new operators and remembered this...Randy in his younger years. Thanks again for all the great information you have shared with us.

    Wheel hop problem

I switched our fleet of graders (14M) to the Snow + 6 years ago.....best move we ever made ! No more chains (and we have some pretty mean hills) and the operators love them. As for wear, we usually get about 4000 hrs out of them (Not too much of an issue since we trade them in every 2...

    Opinions on Best Graders

Well we made our Cat salesman happy this week....We're flipping our 6 graders for another 6 new ones (third 14M series batch for us now)...we usually trade them in before we get to 4000 hrs. I was guaranteed that I won't have any of the previous issues. Time will tell....

difference between belly dumps clam dump locations length wise vs cross frame locatio

That's what we use at our municipality and it works really well when you have to spread the material. The clamps being smaller also have less of a tendency to bow.

    Deere graders

Another issue we seem to run into a lot is that what should be common stock parts are not available and have to come from Hong Kong or Morton....should not take a week to get a cylinder seal kit...not acceptable.

    Cat M Series Operators

@ nige.. Ours went in for the frame upgrades (14M) and tandems this past spring/summer. They failed to do some of the other programs while they had the machines in their shop (manpower issues they say) and trying to get them to come and get caught up on just the software is a lost cause...
