    Pipe Laying

Yes, that is paying for the fusing machine and fusing it, laying, sleeving the road and puting in a few taps. Not including the pipe though, The pipe is about $11.50 per foot not counting delivery. Thats pretty good for pipe but it is going up about the 1st of the month though.

    Pipe Laying

Hi, it has been along time since I gotten to post here, the recession doesn't seem to affect irrigation too much, the water is still going downhill!! I have been doing some bids on HDPE pipeline installs and wondering what others are getting per foot to install. I have one comming for 1900...

    Water Pressures

Thats a good looking traveling sprinkler. I have had experience with the tractor style that follows the hose and had good luck as long as you don't hit mud, then it will spin out and turn over. It would pull alot of hose for such a little thing but the one on the website you posted looks like...

    Water Pressures

Thanks guys, I came up with 6.45 static pressure @ 15' of fall and thought it was crazy. I have been getting into the formulas for flow rate, resistance, darcey equations and it is very involved. I too forgot about the 10' at the pond. I am sure it will change greatly when flowing up throught...

    Water Pressures

Hi there, I have been doing google searches and looking in books to find a formula for calculating water pressure and can't seem to nail down what I want to know. Is there a good, simple formula to calculate this?? EXAMPLE; I have 1000' of 3' pipe laid with about 15' of gradual fall in that...

    Laying welded plastic water pipe?

this is going to be irrigation pipe. It is going to replace one of our open canals and has about 45 turn outs along the way. The farmers use this water to water thier crops so there is alot of water running through it. Some of the turn outs can be 8-10 inch headgates and may supply several...

    Laying welded plastic water pipe?

Thanks for the info!! yes, it is beautiful country around here and up around stoner and Rico. There is a hot spring just above Rico that runs all year and is fun to get into. I have been checking with the pipe companies but I really learn alot from this site. Everyone on here have great...

    Laying welded plastic water pipe?

Small world!! The McPhee dam has been really good for this area and supplies alot more water to our farmers. We will definitly bury it but we don't have to go real deep and put in air-vacs and drains along the way to drain it during the winter. Do you have to worry about expansion and...

    Laying welded plastic water pipe?

Thanks for the advice. I am trying to get all my ducks in a row before the water is out of the ditch. This is going to be a good job for me(career wise) so your advice and experience is great! Welding outside the ditch sounds like the only feasible way to lay this type of pipe. I agree about...

    Laying welded plastic water pipe?

Thank you, I was afraid of something like that. Do you guys have to just wait all the time on the welder or can you get several joints laid out?? Surely you have to work closely joint per joint and lift it up to weld the bottom wouldn't you? How is this style of pipe to lay as opposed to...

    Laying welded plastic water pipe?

Hi guys, I could use some help on getting an estimate together on a pipeline project we are getting ready to do. I can't seem to find a thread I was looking at a month or so ago about how much pipe one can lay in a day. What we are going to do this winter is lay 5 1/2 miles of 3 foot...

Excavators I have operated over the years

Thank you Mr. Deas, that really helped alot. Hi, telescooper. That one is called a 'Little Giant' and is very similar to the Grade-all. They said we used to have a Grade-all before I went to work there. I have only ran this one a couple of times a year but wouldn't want to run it everyday...

Excavators I have operated over the years

Thank you Nick!! That picture and advice was what I was looking for. I would much rather pull myself in the direction I am going than push myself backwards and not see a rock or something that would slip on me. I am no expert on excavator but I am no novice either. I have been operating for...
