Small Ford 1710 tractor 4x4 issues

4x4 went out...been told it could be a simple driveline coupler fix? Anyone with experience with this machine that can tell me if I'll soak myself in hydro when I pull the driveline housing? Or better yet...a link to an online manual?

    Cat 259D vs 239D

My 259d is high flow ..never used it. Brush mower works great on std flow. Get the biggest CTL you can ..unless you're tiptoeing around residential areas you will appreciate the larger size.

McLaren Industrial attachments, does anyone have any experience with them

Looks like a solid grapple...doubt you'd be disappointed. I bought a set of tracks from McLaren... transaction went smooth and shipping was fast for freight. I would buy from them again

    Illegal dump trailer?

It's getting tougher every year to live here with the ever increasing regulations and taxes but it still beats most other states IMO. Move away from LA/or the Bay area and it's actually a great place to be. Farmers are exempt but you need to be legit... You could always hollow out the inside...

Dump trailers, why does everyone love them?

A lot of it is location too. Here in California you can’t use that old stuff... it’s either buy the new, expensive trucks or find a way around that with a dump trailer.

Dump trailers, why does everyone love them?

It’s kind of an “apple and oranges” thing... you can’t really compare a full size hauling truck with a smaller homeowner setup trailer. I think mg84 is talking about dump trailers being used for actual bulk hauling of material while in Real life they’re just used by contractors to haul trash...

    Cat259d is this sound normal

That missing plate wouldn’t cause the whine... that’s probably seized together (it is on my 259d... those things are a bad design) and the previous owner tried to get it apart without luck. https://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/threads/track-bushings.99906/#post-1120247

Dump trailers, why does everyone love them?

They’re perfect for people who don’t want the expense of an additional large dump truck. Ever had to unload a truck or non dumping trailer by hand at the landfill and then you watch a guy pull up, dump his trailer in 2 minutes and drive away? Ever needed just a yard or two of material to finish...
