    Has anyone here been into a HD20 torque converter? Have one that is gushing fuel from the front seal. I know the seals are NLA but I have another very weak but dry torque to pull seals from, The book says there are special tool needed to work on them. Just wondering if there are any tips or...

    Good friend is looking for a good used set of 21x29 tires for a Bucyrus erie scraper. It is only used for 10hrs a year at a show. The rear two he has have rotten sidewalls. Cant justify $7000 each for two new ones.

    Birken, It does explain it very well. The head having no coolant was nuclear hot, which explains the valves that were warped. But the block having coolant in it was much cooler, which is why the pistons did not look that bad.

    I have a feeling that reman engine just had a set of rings installed and sent out the door. Sleeves were never replaced.

    Steve, I have seen some very coolant related overheated engines and NEVER seen a melted valve! A melted valve would HAVE to be caused by combustion temps extremely high. Again their story is NOT jiveing with the symptoms!!!!

    I agree with you on the failure issue Steve. In reference to the Wesj post you quoted. I don't remember you mentioning a burned up valve?
