What, with the SJ4,the 1980 Barko 450,and the 67 1 ton,I could get away with telling someone that it was a quality photo from around '82. This is just the other day in our first landing getting our start. Now there is a healthy deck of Sugar Pine,White Fir,Doug Fir,and Ponderosa ringing that shovel. That little yarder has some pull! Could someone tell me where I could find some clutch piston seals? The main drum seal leaks some and was full of dirt from Oregon
when I pulled it apart. We were handed a 17k acre tract to log,and while that yarder looked huge in my front yard,it seems tiny out there.

Here is one of two Skagit deck winches on the Palouse. I am using 1.5" poly braid to straighten things up a bit, driving steel cans with a diesel hammer.
We did not use the Skagits for the anchor lines on the jobs I did, we had a tug and spudded down or did spud spins to walk the jobs.

I loved that little yarder.I enjoyed wrenching on it,doing the morning maintenance, and feeding my family with it.It had
a unique spirit to it created by engineers from a better time.
This Dixie fire, started (yet another) by the board of directors at PG&E,came and destroyed all of my iron including the SJ4
in a fast moving blow up.
Were getting a lot of support from the owners of other local outfits.Once again,a good reputation born of hard work and honesty pays off. We've been offered a skidder and shovel on time to log our area of the burn (17,000 acres). All of that timber was going to last us 10 years of logging.
Next up,we hope to find another Skagit yarder. A BU 70,MY 50,
Or even a BU 84 with a 46A Cat could be shoved around this country with some gumption.I'm looking forward to that.
It's the only direction to look.

Once I hit my 40s I just don't seem as interested in setting chokers but my fat ___ could use some rigging work

Well, no tree rigging today. Strung another 1200' extension and got another 60' of lift.
