You can look at the connections to the injectors. The leaking ones will be completely clean while the properly torqued ones will have oil clinging to them. If you find leaking ones, just replace them. People over torque them and crack the flare on the tube. Nothing you can do with them at that point.

thank you for this tip. Does anyone know of a service manual and parts manual of this engine to download somewhere? I have no manuals or any reference and these engines are so old.where would one get parts? Thanks

Fleabay, will only be generic 71 series DD Engine manuals, parts manuals are relegated to dealers for the most part as are dependent by S/N in most cases and variables would fill catalog sized volumes that could fill a kitchen counter. I traded my own manuals to another here on the forum as could use them. As to buying parts, primarily go online and Google 'Detroit Diesel 71 series parts suppliers'. Locally check with HD truck or boat garage sites as to who they use.

Guys!!! Here’s the update! I found the issue of fuel dilution: I uploaded a video on YouTube. It was pissing diesel from fuel line One. It was very loose. Now I tightened it and no more pissing diesel. Now I’m sucking out the oil to replace it. Thanks everyone! Here’s the video
